New York - Lawmaker Wants Stun Guns For City Bus Drivers, Subway Operators
New York - A New York state lawmaker is looking to put Tasers in the hands of transit workers.
Sen. Eric Adams proposed legislation letting MTA bus drivers and subway conductors carry Tasers.
Adams, a retired NYPD captain, is renewing the push following a rise in assaults on transit workers. There were 94 attacks on transit crews last year, up from 72 the year before, according to the Daily News.
