The alleged victim took the stand on Wednesday but refused to testify in the bench trial for Eliyahu and Avi Werdesheim who were charged with the 2010 beating.

The prosecutor said the teenager was on his way to a doctor’s appointment when the brothers– who were patrolling for a Jewish neighborhood watch in Baltimore– confronted him. He added that one of the brothers threw the teen to the ground and another hit him on the head.

The defense attorney, however, said the teen was holding a nail-stubbed board and the brothers hit him in self-defense.

The judge told the alleged victim it was not his decision to have charges dropped. The judge did not hold the teen in contempt, but said there could be consequences.

The alleged victim’s grandfather was thrown out of court Wednesday for making expressions and motions at the teen while he was on the stand.

was he intimidated from proceeding with the trial? Seems strange he would seek to drop the charges now that a judge is hearing the case.

the victim is probably afraid of cross-examination, and they will knock out his story, and then go to jail for obstruction of justice.
My Bet is this kid never wanted to press charges, and it was his ‘mentors’ who pushed him to do so.

I think it was discovered that the only way to win the case was to have it heard by a racially biased jury. That’s what happened by the Lemrick Nelson murder trial in Brooklyn. He was acquitted even with overwhelming evidence for the prosecution. Reason – a racially biased jury. Fortunately (though many don;t like to hear it), the jury duty process is tighter, and the options of “getting off” which Yidden enjoyed are now limited. Result is increased likelihood of a more balanced jury.

Maybe he wants to drop the charges because he never had any legitimate charges and his story is full of holes. I hope the boys are completely vindicated with no record of any sort that they did ANYTHING wrong, at ALL!
