Lakewood, NJ – While busses have been chartered to transport the large crowds that are expected to attend the CitiField Asifa on Sunday, a Lakewood resident has come up with an alternate means of transportation to the event: the self-proclaimed Asifa Boat.

“The buses were all filled up and just getting tickets was a hassle,” said the Lakewood man. “We didn’t want to deal with waiting for the bus, the heat and the traffic. One of my friends suggested we charter a boat and we realized it was a bakavodik way to get to the Asifa relaxed, well rested and like a mentsh.”
While the original boat that was chartered for the Asifa had one hundred and forty eight seats, tickets sold so quickly that the entire boat was sold out in several hours and arrangers have booked a larger boat that will accommodate between two and three hundred people.
The Asifa Boat will be departing from Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor, New Jersey at 4:15 on Sunday and is expected to dock at the CitiField Marina, half a mile from Citifield, at approximately 6:30 PM.
Round trip tickets on the Asifa Boat are $40 each and are available at the Out to Lunch Café in Lakewood or by emailing [email protected].
They should name it the Teivah or Ark. The rest of the world is drowning in the internet – if you want to be saved then hop on the boat to the asifah.
Nice!
Will french fries and pizza will be served as well? How about some Lipa? This is an Asifa to remember!
Cool are there any boats leaving from boro park and if yes where could i buy tickets????????
I think the Asifa is a disgrace and Baal Tashchis at a level unknown in the history of American Jewry. But I would like to charter a boat from Lakewood to a Met’s game. Anybody willing to chip in?
I can see the latest Asifa ad now: “ALL ABOARD! DON’T MISS THE BOAT!”
ווי “תורה” דארט חכמה
We would like to find a boat from the Kiryas Joel nearest port.
Will the boat fly the Ichud HaKehillios flag?
Toyota avalon, cigars, not bakuvadik enough?
A 3 hour tour…
A 3 hour tour… 🙂 Wait for me, Giligan!
Perhaps they can all sail to an internet free island, set up shop and pay tuition bills with sand and seashells.
People are going by car,Amtrack, boat, airplane. I just landed on planet earth so can someone advise where everyone is running to? Will there be cholent or kugel? Is TSA going to pat everyone down at this highly secure place?
If you can’t “surf” the web lets atleast surf the river on a boat, I hope the water in the river is “filtered”.
Oh citifield here I come
Away from the doom
And the gloom of the day
I will sit in your sunlight
And soak up the room
Of the really great leaders today
As I exhume my heart
And confess that today I am less
Than orthodox in my online activity
Oh amazing souls before me today
Let me say goodbye to the computer and its allay
I will hope to be a better man
And never leave the world without a pixel that I did not create.
Personally I think that the Asifa is a waste of time and I find the Internet essential.
But if these people find the Asifa to be something that will resonate with their needs, why should I mock them? I wish them success in their endeavor and I hope they come out feeling that they gained something important. Eack to their own.
Shabbat Shalom my fellow Yidden!
It was sold out so quickly so they had to advertise the extra 100 or so seats on my favorite news website.
major pr spin happening. im sure the boat idea is random … with the guy saying how hard it is to get tickets, even though there are 100’s of tickets unsold
Horse and Buggy would be more appropriate for this event.
They are even going to have shiurim on the boat (both ways) a shudt de tzeit.
Can’t they just do a satellite feed to auditoriums throughout the world like they do for some shiurim?
The Satmar rav will be explaining to his few remaining chassidim years from now how and why he assured the asifa. This will go down as the biggest embarrasment since the rabbonim tried to assur Lipa several years ago and instead propelled him to fame and the greatest singer in Jewish history. While the rest of the heimeshe community will be exchanging ideas about same use of the most powerful technology ever known to man, the backward Satmar will be attending a shiiur on new developments in the Aaron-Zalman fight.
Great! This way even those that ” just got off the boat” can attend.
Looks like people are more interested in having a good time than listening to mussar.
the boat will be passing thru the gowanus bay next to boro park , just hop on.
Kiryas Joel im sorry you will need to head to peekskill to head downstream them make your turn around battery park
If you go to the hospital are they going to use pencil and paper? For you people they will!! My son’s dr. ‘s office is a sheyne yid. His office is paperless!! What is he supposed to do? Are we all supposed to go back 100 years??
Are there separate boats for men and women?
I can’t believe I’m reading this article on the Internet, what a beautiful wonders
jersey turnpike >exit 15x Seacaucus junction> train to NY PENN STATION ( 7 min)> train to citifield (16min)
Science and techonology can either help humanity or harm it. It is how an individual uses it, not the technology itself that is harmful. My husband used computers and the internet to serve his country and earn his living. His rebbe is very supportive of the Asifa and against the internet and computers. But he has no problem constantly asking my husband for money even though the money is derived from the internet. The irony never fails to amuse me. If people feel that they have a problem with the internet, they should get professional help, not try to ban the use of the internet by everyone else. For me the internet has been a blessing as it has helped me find health and medical information that has saved my life so I have no problem with it. Another irony is the posts I read bashing the internet on VIN. Dont the posters realize that they are using the internet? As for me, I am pro-science and pro-technology
