i saw all those comments, you pple posted regarding the Jacobowitz case. i want you all to know that it says you should never judge a person until you’ve been in his shoes. should all of you, who speak loshon hora about those people know that if all of the yiden were as wonderful jews as the Jacobowitz’s, Moshiach would’ve been here a very long time ago
The reality of the situation is that the Jacobowitz family started out on the right path, and they went too far too fast (much like 47th Street Photo in its day except that rather than going down the slippery slope they just folded). Allou was looked up to as a successful and well run business, but somewhere, things went wrong and the owners turned to gross fraud to solve their problems. A tragedy to be sure, but “uvecharta bachaim”, and the Jacobowitzes instead fell victim to their yetzer and created a horrible chilul Hashem.
First Judges are hard working people who should be paid more than the $137,000 they get. They merely enforce the Sentencing Guidelines which the US Congress passed in 1986 to curb white collar crime by imposing stiff sentences. Remember Enron you had no kind words for those people. I do not know these people but I was a AUSA and still do criminal securities fraud defense work and the amount of Jews who have the attitude of “Kol HaKavod” to someone who stole $117 MM is why the court system has such a low view of Chassidish Jews. We have brought it on ourselves. Instead of crying for these people who committed a major fraud for years you applaud them. In one blog we have the Sloatsburg mess on one far extreme and this mess.
I dont wish on anyone to have to go through this nisoyan. However the Jacobowitz family were great hardworking people they treated everyone with respect from the low end worker to the high level ones. They treated all salespeople with respect and dignity.
I feel sorry for the pain the family is going through as well as the nesoyan they had
Frxom someone who was treated with respect by the Jacobowitz’S
I do feel good coming home after a weeks work with my meager paycheck.
es is kosher gelt, chevra. I cannot give grois gelt for tzedaka.
I dont live in a mansion. My cup is half full, B”H.
can anyone explain the rationale of such a sentence?
10-15-7 years
IF its true that they made 177 mill (kol hakovod) by locking them up will they ever see the money again?
does the judge feel acomplished when he comes home from a days work and tells his wife today I locked up three jews for 10 years.
cause I have a boring job that I have to sit on a bench listining to sob stories somtimes months at a time with no outcome as to who is right and only make 75k a year.
while theese guys never went to collage are orthodox people have a wife, family, friends, social life, shabbos and yom tov to celebrate. plus they are succesful business people and big philanthropists and well loved in the community.
I decided I will do a good deed by locking them up. I just contributed to NYC drop in crime which are to many to mention here.
or maybe hes just a teensy weensy upset, has no self esteem and is depressed bout his life so he figured tzuris rabim chutze nechumah
People are wondering why our teenage children are troubled, I am not. They have so many examples of ehrlechkite to learn from.
Mr Shtender bender , tell me , when you finally depart this world and you go throudght the cleansing prosess in the world to come , to atone your sins will you go to gan eden to reap the benifits of youe goods deeds ??
Points to ponder:
Fast forward a couple of years to the time when all are released (bekarov).
Question: Do they get to keep their old seats in Shul up front as Rosh Hakohol OR do we demand they sit in the back like the low Gonif they turned out to really be???
two points:
1) Definitely true: There is no question that a Chassidishish Yid, guilty or not would be a fool to go in front of a jury.
2) A state prosecutor (ADA) or US atty (feds), would definitely remove a Chusid from a Jury in a case against another Chusud.
agree with you 100 percent!
everyone must go and serve jury duty!
