Brooklyn, NY – D.A.’s International Hunt For An Alleged Pedophile Seems Exaggerated

Photo by Miriam Alster/FLASH90 Brooklyn, NY – For years, Avrohom Mondrowitz counseled children out of his home in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. He was host of a call-in radio show popular among ultra-Orthodox Jewish listeners, claiming to be a rabbi and psychologist. But law enforcement officials say Mr. Mondrowitz, who fled to Israel in 1984 to avoid arrest, was also something else: “a compulsive pedophile.”

The Brooklyn district attorney, Charles J. Hynes, has repeatedly said that since taking office in 1990, he has vigorously tried to extradite Mr. Mondrowitz. Mr. Hynes has said his office was instrumental in bringing about a change in a treaty between the United States and Israel in 2007 that had thwarted early extradition efforts.

But newly disclosed documents from Mr. Hynes’s office cast doubts on his accounts of his role in the case, suggesting that for many years, the office paid little attention to it.

Michael Lesher, a writer and lawyer who represents several of Mr. Mondrowitz’s accusers, obtained 103 pages of files on the case from the district attorney’s office after a protracted court battle to secure them under the state’s Freedom of Information Law.

“There isn’t a single e-mail, a single letter, a single memo, either originating from the D.A.’s office or addressed to it, that so much as mentions any attempt by the D.A. to seek a change in the extradition treaty,” Mr. Lesher said. “It’s just inconceivable that such important negotiation on such a detailed issue could have taken place and not left a trace in the documentary record.”

A good question might be is we know he abused kids in the USA but how many did he abuse in Israel?? We know how many he did here so he definitely could not stop!! Maybe the Israelis want to try him??

Israel is very strict with these people. I believe if he wasn’t arrested they didn’t deem it fit.

Mr. Lesher, may I ask, when did the D.A.s office start using emails. I know, based on your age, emails have been forever, Internet started Millions of years ago.You are talking about somebody who may have transgressed prohibitions back in the ’60s and ’70s and fled in ’84.

Just look in the mirror and see a person that champions an issue for the sake of money, hobby, etc. but definitely not for the sake of truth.

You and CrazyRabbi Rosenberg are compulsive people haters and bashers. Let Charles Hynes live. He is a respectible person with a lot of credit to his service. Had Charles Hynes been such a person, he would go after HOW CrazyRabbi Rosenbergs was able to amass his Manhatten Real Estate riches.

Why would a parent send a child to an unlicensed therapist? He charged a lot of money for each session. Wouldn’t anyone ask to see his NYS licenses which must be visible to the public in an office? I wouldn’t even go to a CPA who doesn’t have his credentials on his wall, let alone a therapist!

The real one guilty is not the DA.

The DA is a Goy who is no ohev Yisroel and could care less for or against mondorovitch.

Whatever the DA did (right or wrong) is always for one reason and for one reason ONLY.

The DA does (or makes sure NOT to do) whatever the Rabbi’s who elected him (or who support (“Support” = Tarti mashma – vehamevin yovin) the DA.

The DA takes Orders from the Heads of Satmar, the Heads of Ger and the Heads of the Aguda and the like and if they want the DA to “forget” about Modorovitch, the DA gets busy with other things and “forgets”, as ordered by his supporters.

oy how i would like to spend 15 minutes alone with this guy. I would give him some “therapy” of my own, and then I would hand him over to the parents of the ITALIAN kids that he molested/raped.
