An Iranian Revolutionary Guard speedboat escorts a passenger ship (not pictured) near the spot where a US warship shot down an Iranian airliner 24 years ago, during a commemoration of the 24th anniversary of the disaster at the port of Bandar Abbas, Iran, 02 July 2012.Tehran – Iran’s semi-official news agency Fars is reporting the country can destroy nearby U.S. military bases and strike Israel within minutes of an attack on the Islamic Republic.

The Wednesday report quotes Gen. Ami Ali Hajizadeh of the powerful Revolutionary Guards as saying U.S. bases, and Israel — which he referred to as “occupied territories” — are in range of Iran’s missiles and could be struck as a retaliatory measure.

“Measures have been taken so that we could destroy all these bases in the early minutes of an attack,” said Hajizadeh, chief of the Guards’ airspace division.

Iran and the West are at odds over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and neither Israel nor the U.S. have ruled out a military strike on the country if diplomacy fails to stop its nuclear program.

And Saddam Hussein promised the Mother of All Battles. The Arabs are good at shooting their mouths off, not so good at war.

Anyone who can do anything, just does it, while those who really can’t do anything, stand on the side, like a Dog who Barks because he can do little more than just bark and threaten.

Israel doesn’t verbally “threaten” what they are about to do!

When Israel is ready they just do it, without one prior word.

Whims like Iran keep on barking daily.

Sadam Hussein also kept on Barking that “he is winning” even while the bombs flew over his head and he had to run and hide in a Rat Hole.

The current Leader of Iran is not unlike his predecessor Haman who ruled the same region and they will both end up the same way as Haman and Sadam with a noose around the neck, watching his own imminent demise.

If they had the capability, I doubt they would speak about it. The US has the ability to reduce that backward country to just a pile of sand and rubble, but nobody talks about that.

These guys remind me of Gamal Abdul Nasser on June 5th, 1967: Egyptian air force destroyed, army in retreat, while Nasser’s claiming they’re battering down the Knesset.

Much as I hate to say it the Iranians are doing the right thing. Any government’s first duty is to protect its country from invaders. If they are attacked by American, Arab or Israeli forces they pretty much have to hit back. If these threats can reduce the risk of them being attacked the government is, once again, doing right by its people.

You don’t have to like the mullahs. I personally despise them. That doesn’t alter the fact that they are a government doing what a government is supposed to do.
