Wolfeboro, NH – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has settled the debate over what to call President Barack Obama’s health care mandate.

In an interview Wednesday with CBS News, Romney says it’s a tax.
That contradicts a statement days ago by a top adviser, who said Romney viewed the mandate as a penalty or a fee or a fine — but not as a tax.
Opponents of the health care law, including congressional Republicans, have seized on the Supreme Court’s use of the word “tax” to describe the mandate.
Romney said that while he thinks the mandate is unconstitutional, a majority of the court concluded it’s a tax.
Said Romney: “They have spoken. There’s no way around that.”
Romney was interviewed in Wolfeboro, N.H., where he marched in the Fourth of July parade.
If the stupid AP would do their job & vet OblameO like they do the republican, it would be nice.
The bottom line is that it IS a tax and it IS a penalty.
now NoBama is not only taxing the rich but EVERY AMERICAN will be taxed under his socialist regime – VOTE ROMNEY in 2012 – WE need to TAKE BACK AMERICA and become proud American citizens again
to #3 – EVERY AMERICAN TAXPAYER already pays Medicare Tax – so why DOUBLE TAXATION without representation???
Big deal. I’ve heard Mitt’s comments over the past several days and if this is the best he can come up with, I doubt he’s ready to be president. First of all, Obama-care is basically Romney-care from beginning to end – and NOW he thinks it’s wrong?? Secondly, the only people who will pay the “penalty tax” are those who choose not to buy health insurance.
DenverYid: Lighten up. Millions of Americans without health insurance do NOT “feed off the backs of hard working people who pay their health care for their whole career.”
For many it’s not a choice. The current health insurance system has failed to reflect the shift in the American workplace that no longer looks after the working poor. Millions of hard working people simply cannot afford independent health premiums. Many of us have contributed for decades with few claims, and yet once we lose a job or develop a problem, insurance companies deny coverage or drop us altogether. If it hasn’t happened to you or someone you know – YET, consider yourself very lucky.
Ask around, everyone you know will tell you a story about how the current system has betrayed them or someone they know.
And we both know that if he C’V wins, states will not address this problem. It just wont happen. And there will still be ~40 million uninsured people.
Don’t call it ObamaCare, call it ObamaDoesn’tCare, because Obama really doesn’t care!!!
