The attack on Wednesday took place on a train travelling between Toulouse, which is in the south-west, and the city of Lyon in the south-east, Le Figaro newspaper reported, quoting an interior ministry statement.

“A teenager aged 17 wearing a distinctive religious symbol, who attends Ozar Hatorah school in Toulouse, was taken to task and insulted by two individuals,” the ministry was quoted as saying.

He was then attacked near the toilets “by the same two individuals, who beat him up,” the statement said, adding that the attack ended when a fellow passenger and train conductors intervened.

A source close to the investigation said the two attackers – aged about 18, were arrested shortly after 11 hours at an office of army recruitment in Lyon and placed in custody.

The victim filed a complaint with police in Lyon.

Ozar Hatorah school was the scene of the worst attack against Jews in France in 30 years when Merah shot dead three children and a rabbi at point-blank range as pupils were gathering for class on March 19.

Prior to that, he shot dead three soldiers, also in the Toulouse area.

Merah, who claimed to have been ordered by al-Qaeda to attack France, was shot dead during a police raid on March 22.

The school refused Thursday to comment on the train attack.

The interior ministry said it was determined to “combat any resurgence of the profound evil which is anti-Semitism” and warned the perpetrators faced “severe punishment.”

The only severe punishment worthy of people that hate people for no reason, is what the king morroco did to those that blew up the jewish club and killed 24 yidden…….he killed them…….but not before he reminded them of what they did…..vedai lechakima……….

Boycott their families businesses, get their parents fired from their jobs, harass them with phone calls, publish their names, make their families miserable. After Ilan Halimi was tortured and murdered and many pf the perpetrators got away with it, France should be considered a special case where normal channels don’t work anymore. It really is time to fight dirty there.

I think that it is time for French Jews to think about the idea of leaving France, and go some where else. I feel that the climate is so anti Jews, as to leave them with no other choice. The French government is either not interested in protecting Jews, or they are so Arab loving, as to make believe and not see this treat , and take any actions to protect the Jews in France.
