“I’m very upset about it and it’s disturbing,” said acting Monticello Police Chief Lt. Mark Johnstone.

It happened outside of Jenkins’ G-Man Beauty Supply store.

Police were called to store around noon on Tuesday. When officers arrived, they say Jenkins and his girlfriend were in an argument with another couple.

“There was some pushing and shoving inside the store between all the parties,” Johnstone said. The argument got heated, at which point Jenkins, who was pushed by the man, threw a punch, which accidentally hit an officer. Jenkins denies the allegations.

“When you hear my story, it will clear up a lot of the lies that people are saying out there,” said Mayor Jenkins.

Why should he resign? Because he got into an argument and hit a cop by mistake?

    Something isn’t right over here…
