Jerusalem - Elena Kagan, a justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, visited the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on Thursday, July 5. Among other things, Kagan and Hebrew University President Prof. Menahem Ben-Sasson discussed the Hebrew University’s centrality to the Israeli legal system, and whether the state of Israel needs and will develop a formal constitution.

Ben-Sasson said, “The Hebrew University continues to be not just the major supplier of justices to Israel’s Supreme Court, but also an essential source of legal knowledge and education.” He added that several former justices and chief justices of Israel’s Supreme Court are actively involved with the Hebrew University as educators and members of committees.

Kagan also met with Law Faculty Dean Prof. Barak Medina, and visited the Law Faculty’s Legal Clinics and Minerva Center for Human Rights.

Kagan is the U.S. Supreme Court’s 112th justice and its fourth female justice.

Actually, its Romney who is coming to EY in August to beg for mechillah for his lying about Obamacare and denying his prior support for a nearly identical program in Massachusetts. Justice Kagan will be at the Kosel sometime on Monday but not for the reasons you suggest.

You're free to oppose obamacare when you stop taking all the other government handouts like wics and medicare. You're free to oppose taxes when you stop using what those taxes pay for like roads and highways.

Nonsense. I can be against taxes, but so long as the taxes are there, why should I deprive myself of the services the taxes provide? The hypocrite label would only apply to one arguing for tax cuts while also arguing for sustained entitlements.

First one has to work, so as to be able to *pay* the taxes.

Once those two crucial criteria have been met only then can one avail or deprive oneself of the services provided with tax money.
