Educated at Oxford, the 64 year old Judge is the nephew of famous Rabbi Herman Neuberger, who was instrumental in saving nearly 60,000 Persian Jews from persecution in Iran following the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

“I will do my best to ensure that it continues to play its proper role in upholding the rule of law, and applying and developing the law in a coherent and principled and practical way, appropriate for today’s world,” David Neuberger said.

Jews should strive to become head of departments of medicine, engineering. The judiciary issues judgments which some may interprete as a “Jew judgment” Germany and Hungary before the Nazis had Jewish judges and the results were not positive. Here in the States I like to see a Jew as head of a department in Johns Hopkins, Sloan Kettering and Mass. General

If ice cream had bones, we would eat it with a knife and fork. As Lord Neuberger isn’t competent in the area of medicine, let us celebrate in his accomplishments in the area of jurisprudence. Presumably, you also object to the fact that there sits on the US Supreme Court a female with a Hebrew first name who was among the first to celebrate a traditionally orientated Bat Mitzvah at an Orthodox synagogue in Manhattan when she became of age. Rising to the occasion in every professional area should be our right, because if we don’t use it – we lose it. If you are fearful that the UK or US will become a pre-War Hungary, then you have never understood the underlying causes of 20th Century history. At the risk of my sounding like an apikores, I strongly urge you to broaden your reading portfolio..

Without addressing this particular topic, I would like to state for the record the Rule-of-thumb that I was taught, which applies generally to Jews in exile.
“It’s healthiest to stay out of the lime-light.”

I could elaborate based on scriptures and Chazal. (I’m just not up to it right now.)

(This does not apply to a case of a Jew making a great discovery, or invention. Or saving lives.)

You are not being called (Judged) an apikores by urging the (previous) poster to “Broaden his reading Portfolio”. But as long as we are speaking of pre-war Europe. Particularly, Germany and Hungary, where there were many judges and law professors of Jewish ancestry. I would like to correct a long-held misconception. Before the war, the non-religious Jews accused the religious Jews of causing anti-Semitism. And vice versa. But when nazism came along, they ALL realized that they were wrong. The nazis yms”h took every Jew, religious or not and killed them.

Rabbi Herman Naftali Neuberger zt’l, was my mesader kiddushin and a man bigger than life. He was the president of Yeshivas Ner Yisroel and the brother-in-law of Rav Ruderman, the founding Rosh HaYeshiva. Someone had to be the best yeshiva administrator in the world – it was Rabbi Neuberger.

More fuel for the anti-Semites to use in support of their claim that Jews run the world. This fellow should have turned down the position, much like Herbert Lehman turned down a chance to run for President in the 1940s.
