London – Famous sportcaster Bob Costas who is NBC’s host for its television coverage of the olympics said he will hold a moment of silence on the air while covering the opening ceremonies to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1972 Munich olympics massacre of Israeli athletes, a number of media sources reported on Sunday that he told the Hollywood Reporter.

Costas’ moment of silence contrasts starkly with the decision of the International Olympic Committee, also announced Sunday, not to have any public commemoration during the opening ceremonies.
The IOC said such a public display regarding tragic events was inappropriate for opening ceremonies and would be addressed in private with the current Israeli athletes.
According to media sources, Costas told the Hollywood Reporter that, “I intend to note that the IOC denied the request. Many people find that denial more than puzzling, but insensitive. Here’s a minute of silence right now.”
Bravo!! A man with guts!!!
Good for, Bob Costas! Just goes to show that, yes, there are mentchen in the media who do the right thing.
great job. thank you
Bob Costas is a legend sports broadcaster.
Gd bless him.
Costas deserves the reputation he has, and shows it time and time again.
The IOC are spineless dogs, always cowtowing to the Arabs, because of their oil. Also, there has never been one Jew as a member of the IOC, in all of the years of its existence. It is similar to the movie “Gentleman’s Agreement”.
A Righteous Gentile!
Thats because he’s from St Louis where we are mentshin!

Even when facts are presented to you, which show that you are in error, you will never admit to your mistake, or stand corrected. Is this how you treat your patients? Kindly clarify.
