On 5 September, [list of victims] died a violent death. Honor to their memory."West Bank – Palestinian Authority has thanked the International Olympic Committee [IOC] for refusing to allow a minute’s silence at the opening ceremony in London to mark the 40th anniversary of the murder of 11 Israeli athletes in the Munich Games.

Jibril Rajoub, head of the Palestinian Football Union, sent a letter to IOC Chairman Jaques Rogge thanking him for his position, the PA’s official news agency, Wafa, reported Wednesday.

In his letter, Rajoub, a former PA security commander, wrote: “Sports is a bridge for love, connection and relaying peace between peoples. It should not be a factor for separation and spreading racism between peoples.”

isn’t it nice that this lowlife congratulates another lowlife. I think that it is time to put a stop to the Olympics.

Why have we, the spiritual progeny of the Maccabees, joined a Hellenistic ritual in the first place? I think we are far better suited to intellectual contests and ethical pursuits.

Wow! The Chuzpa of this ‘Para Adam’ never fails to surprise…He claims not to mix politics with sports, yet, HE is the very one responsble of the cold murder of the very athletes in concern.
Only a ‘para adam’ can demonstrate the level of such chuzpa!

“Sports is a bridge for love, connection and relaying peace between peoples.”

It is almost astounding the the world can read these words and not see the hypocrisy and outright contradiction.

He basically said, “We can kill whoever we want, however we want and whenever we want, and you can’t memorialize it because it will hurt our feelings!”

Racism? Yes, the PA should stop the racism of attacking innocent Israeli citizens. They are being killed and persecuted for no other reason than their being Jewish and/or Israeli.

BTW, why doesn’t the sign say “at the hands of terrorists” instead of the stated “violent deaths”??? They were terrorists.

I love it! This is great. To get a compliment from the PA is the very worst-case scenario for this guy!

Was it a “bridge for love” and “relaying peace between peoples” that caused the Olympic massacre? NO, definitely not “love” or “peace”. The Israelis went, though, with love and peace in their hearts. A moment of silence represents just a moment in remembrance for those that died in this horrible crime. The families are still in pain and suffering after all these years for their loved ones. This guy is a hypocrite and the IOC fell for this garbage they spew!!!! I wonder, had there been casualties from England in Germany would they still feel the same way?

(Reply to #13 ): Actually, the plaque states that the eleven Israeli athletes were “cruelly murdered.” The work “achzaryut” denotes cruelty. The word “rotzchim” means “murderers.” The terrorists were savages who tortured and murdered these wonderful, talented athletes in cold blood. Should the word “terrorists” have been included, or is “murderers” sufficient?

This is to give kavod and remember the victims. If they were from any other country, not Israel, for sure there would a memorial.

it’s curious how no one seems to remember that the group that was responsible for this cowardly act of terrorism was named Black September. What exactly was “Black September”? It was when King Hussein of Jordan quashed the Palestinian organizations in Jordan and booted out the PLO. Note how they decided not to take their aggression out on Jordan, but went after the convenient scapegoat – Israel.
