According to Israeli news source Maariv, Schmeltzer shot footage for the video several days ago in Jerusalem’s Kikar Tziyon, clad in army fatigues, with members of the Nachal Chareidi’s Netzach Yehuda division.

The music video features the song Mizrach from Schmeltzer’s most recent album and the song, along with its accompanying dance, has been growing in popularity since its release. The theme of the song is unity, describing how in the times of Moshiach, Jews from all across the religious spectrum will join together as one.

Schmeltzer stresses that he had no intention of making any sort of political statement with this video, a joint project between the superstar and producer Danny Finkelman.

“I am not taking any stand on whether or not Chareidim should be enlisting in the IDF,” Schmeltzer told VIN News. “I am taking a stand on achdus. We are a family, we are all brothers and I dance with everyone. I say the words ‘v’yikabetz nidacheinu’ three times a day in davaning and if those words are meant only for Jews from Borough Park or Bnei Brak, I have a problem with that.”

Schmeltzer is close friends with David Hager, a long time supporter of Nachal Chareidi, which is a special unit composed of religious soldiers and an Aron Kodesh donated by Hager was recently installed in Schmeltzer’s Airmont shul.

There’s nothing political about making a statement supporting achdus, Lipa is doing the job which all Chareidi Rabbonim are supposed to be doing! Just because we don’t share opinions in all aspects of Yiddishkeit doesn’t mean we shouldn’t love each other.

It will be a long time before Mashiach comes if so many people are upset about this innocent and beautiful act of acdus.

I normally don’t make predictions about what would cause Moshiach to come. I leave that to the prophets among us. However, considering that the last Beis HaMikdash was destroyed because of sinas chinom, I’m sure that a bit of ahavas chinom won’t hurt.
    Go LIpa!

I will be honest I am not a big fan of lippas music , but if is intentions are achdus and loving ur fellow Jew regardless of background, I have a newfound respect for lippa. Rock on brother, and let’s bring moshiach together!

I’m no big fan of Lipa and i think this is the stupidest dance that anyone that calls them self professional can preform, BUT! The “v’yikabetz nidacheinu” statement is what Judaism and chosidus is based on, the words of Hillel Hazoken, Now what a shame that we dont hear these kind of statements and see these kinda actions from our Rabbunim!! “PNAY HADUR K’PNAY HAKELEV” the way the robbunim look and act thats the way we look and act! sad sad.

When he does a video with conservative and/or reform Jews, then I’ll believe he’s serious about promoting achdus.

mashiach is not coming beacuse of all the stupid people who talk lashon harah about an amazing peson who is only trying to make achdus and kidush hashem in this world with his beautiful music. So to all those who have something bad to say just dont say it and dont listen to his music.

Based on the negative comments about this video on achdut – I find it hard for Moshiach to come.

I doubt very highly that Lipas intentions in doing this viseo was achdus, It seems to be about selling his music – He is talented (though I too found the dance a bit odd) and he needs to make a living. To do so you have to be unique and do something that catches peoples eyes. Leave him, his wife and kids alone. I am sure his wife agrees with his doing this as it supports her family too.

LIPA- YOU ARE A STAR!!! for all your talents – but most importantly for saying this:
“I say the words ‘v’yikabetz nidacheinu’ three times a day in davaning and if those words are meant only for Jews from Borough Park or Bnei Brak, I have a problem with that.”
If only more yidden would say this- and not just talk the talk…..about Torah and achdus- but if they would walk the walk- like you did- by saying this statement- MASHIACH WOULD BE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

people can have chumras and holier than thou attitudes from here to tomorrow……but if they are lacking the basic acceptance of another yid who is not exactly like them- then shame on them!!! and th same applies to the modern orthodox world that do not accept yidden they feel are frummer or nerdy ….

Thank you for having the courage to say what needs to be said!!!

    a very grateful boro parker!!!!

for all those bashing chassidim- I have to tell you from personal experience – that non chassidish people are just as judgmental, hateful, critical…and more…..i grew up chassidish -so i can admit to some of our community’s shortcomings- having been around other communities since then- i have seen more hate from non chassidim. i have several modern friends and they strongly agree. you see a chosid will tell you to your face …and then they’ll probably ask forgiveness sometime later…. others (not all) however- will stab you and twist the knife all with a smile to your face pretending to be your friend….as they are very formal and polite… bottom line is- sinas chinam exsists everywhere and it is up to each individual to work on themselves to eradicate negative feelings about other jews in their heart.
HaShem knows we are all human and that we will have such feelings and therefore He gave us halachos and direction on how to have ahavas yisrael. we need to bring more awareness to that….(which the choetz chaim heritage foundation seems to be doing…as well as others…) we need to be familiar with all the verses that pertain to ahavas yisrael. May we see only good in e/o.
