AP FileJefferson City, MO - Republican strategist Karl Rove has apologized to Congressman Todd Akin after joking about the Missouri Senate candidate being murdered.
Akin campaign adviser Rick Tyler told The Associated Press that Akin accepted Rove’s apology during a phone call Friday. A Rove spokesman didn’t return messages Friday from the AP.
Bloomberg Businessweek’s website had quoted Rove as telling GOP donors in Florida: “We should sink Todd Akin. If he’s found mysteriously murdered, don’t look for my whereabouts!”
Rove and other top Republicans have urged Akin to drop his challenge to Democratic Sen. McCaskill and let GOP leaders pick a replacement candidate after Akin’s remarks about women’s bodies being able to avoid pregnancy in cases of what he called “legitimate rape.”
Akin has since publicly apologized and vowed to remain in the race.

Perhaps they could use Rove to weigh Akin down. How can this country have to deal with two such idiots, one having been part of the Bush White House that dragged us into Iraq. We can't do much about Akin but hopefully, Fox will immediately terminate his contract so we don't see him on nightly TV with Hannity.

Sorry, Akin, apology not accepted. You showed your true colors. You not only put your foot in your mouth, you put the entire shoe store in there. And, Rove, don't think you're off the hook either. Some stupid Joe Shmow will take you seriously and then what will you say? I say boot them both out. Demand Akin resign and do community work with rape victims. Rove --we need to tell our Republican reps to oust him. He should do community work with families who have lost loved ones to murder. Shame on both of you!

You got that right! Rove may be a liar and part of the biggest fraud this nation ever perpetrated on America, but to call him an "idiot" is to also lie. He is a brilliant man who understands that the "idiot class" in America is his for the taking. He understands that America's idiot class makes up 60% of the nation - 30% being left-wing idiots who will believe anything that Keith Olbermann, Al Sharpton, or Ed Schultz tells them, and 30% being being right-wing idiots who will believe anything Hannity, Limbaugh or Rove tell them.
He has shown himself to be a MASTER of getting the right-wing idiots to come out and VOTE. That's his job. He convinced 51% of America that George W. Bush was a great President.
