Nancy Lack tells WVIT-TV she was offended by the picture and took down three posters that were being hung last Thursday near the post office on Main Street in Hebron, Conn.
Workers for frequent presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche, who were putting up the signs, called police.
Lack says she knew she would get in trouble. But she says she lived through World War II and was angry that someone would portray the president as a Nazi.
She was released on a promise to appear in court next week.
I can’t stand Obama, but nobody should be compared to Hitler.
she is right
What a mamzer, that La-ROACH….
If you put up posters that are offensive to people who lived through gehenum, that is not “breach of peace”. Tearing them down is….. makes alot of sense, doesn’t it?
I wish that those who put of the sign would have lived one month under Hitler and they would know what Hitler was. His murderers were tall, blue eyed and blond not dark skinned . Shame on those who in their ignoranc put of the sign and had not my experience
Yes. The posters are offensive.
Yes. What this woman did was illegal.
Yes. The people who made the posters are obviously stupid people who don’t understand the difference between American liberalism and Naziism (or could spell either) and believe that inflammatory ads depicting Nazis will help their cause. Stupid isn’t strong enough of a word for these people.
Yes. What she did was illegal and she should be charged and punished under the law.
Most of those people who put up signs of Hitler trying to compare a good president to a wicked nazi are probably the same people who would be manning the gas chambers 70 years ago.
give her credit she took it down and not complaining that she got arrested
She did the right thing, we should never become so desensitized to the face of that monster that we fail to guard against another one…
The signs should have been illegal. I may not like Obama as a president, but that doesn’t make him comparable to Hitler.
A judge with sechel will sentence her to community service, time already served for removing those signs.
Offending some one should be considered a crime. Obama, though not my choice, is not Hitler and should not be compared to him.
The add is offensive.
The lady is correct in her actions.
I guess it all depends on which way she found them offensive–comparing Obama to Hitler, or comparing Hitler to Obama.
Good for her! And good for every soul I see on here, speaking out for what’s right & for supporting this Woman’s actions. I’m so sick of seeing our President disparaged in such light. Whether it was George Bush, or now Barack Obama…. our President should never be spoken about in such fashion!
Not to mention… what a disgrace to the memory of those who ACTUALLY suffered under Hitler’s dominance! Sure there’s lots of folks out there who don’t like the President…. but is Barack Obama REALLy Hitler?!?! And if so… wouldn’t he have started in on the genocide by now?!
I think it’s disgusting how nasty people are getting the closer to the election date we get. Sometimes people just gotta take a step back, breathe a bit & CALM DOWN. I get irritated & worked up about politics, but then I remember it’s NOT what’s most important in this World to be worrying about! lol
We have bigger fish to fry! Like helping souls be closer to HaShem & doing what we can to bring the Moshiach in our time. NOT putting all of our faith, hope & energy, into worldly politics & allowing it to sully our behavior towards our fellow man, as well as the man whom HaShem Himself, put in charge.
The police were correct in arresting her. The District Attorney is under no obligation to bring charges and therefore could dismiss the case before a judge has to rule.
Still, the question is do we believe in free speech? Everyone likes to say they do and then says but.
Free speech is not important for people we agree with. It is meant for those we disagree with. Having said this I would like to see the authorities not to prosecute this case, since her reactions were more than understandable.
