David Lobl, the former Director of Public and Government Affairs at Human Care Services for Families and Children, Inc., will be serving as Community Representative, where he will be focusing on outreach to the state’s Jewish population.

“I’m honored to join the Cuomo administration and I look forward to working together with the Governor to strengthen ties between state government and New York’s Jewish community,” said Lobl.

Lobl was named this past May as one of this year’s “Rising Stars 40 Under 40” by cityandstateny.com. A former resident of Chicago, the Israeli born Lobl moved to New Jersey after his wedding, taking a job as director of Public and Governmental Affairs with The Friedlander Group in December 2010. Lobl moved on to the Brooklyn based Human Care Services, a non-profit organization that cares for the disabled, spending much of his time in Albany lobbying for the needs of the disabled.

“David combines intellect, integrity and intelligence, qualities which will serve the Governor and the people of our State well,” said Ezra Friedlander, CEO of The Friedlander Group.

Also appointed today were Ian Rosenblum who will serve as Director of Policy Coordination and De’Shawn Wright, who will serve as Deputy Secretary for Education.

Cuomo praised the three new appointees saying, “Each of these individuals will bring years of experience, as well as new energy and fresh ideas, to our efforts to rebuild New York State. I look forward to working alongside these new members of the administration as we serve the people of this state.”

Lobl, has a Bachelor of Talmudic Law from Derech HaTalmud and studied in Jerusalem’s Yeshiva Aderes Hatorah.
