    An estimated 16.5 inches of rain fell in Eilat, half the average annual amount, closing the airport and blocking entrance into the city via highway 90.

    Rains were expected to continue intermittently into Monday.

    I think the article meant 16 centimeter not inches

    It was 16.5 millimeters, or about 0.7 inches of rain. Eilat normally gets 2 inches a year.

    No, it was inches. I live in the Central Region and you would not believe the squalls we had since Friday. It’s sunny now but even this morning it was incredibly wet. I dumped several buckets of water that collected on my patio and we had localized flooding as well. This was not a normal storm. We had high winds and it was pretty chilly for early November.
