New York - United Airlines flights are grounded nationwide due to a computer glitch, according to reports from customers across the U.S.
The airline did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the matter.
Passengers are being told by pilots and airport agents that computers are down and they don’t know when the system will come back, passengers told The Associated Press. Some fliers have been waiting nearly 2 hours to depart.
David Spahr posted messages on his @dkspahr Twitter account that he was stranded on a plane at Sea-Tac Airport because of the problem.

Why a giant company like this should not have a backup plan is beyond me.
I hope they will refund at least part of the ticket fare.
