Cairo – Hamas Chief: I Accept A Palestinian State On ’67 Borders

    17

Khaled Mashaal, the head of the Political Bureau of Hamas (C), speaks during a press conference in Cairo, Egypt, 19 November 2012. EPACairo – Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal declared a position on Palestinian statehood that is nearly identical to that of his Fatah rival, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, in an interview with CNN aired Wednesday.

“I accept a Palestinian state according [to] the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as the capital, with the right to return,” the Hamas leader told Christine Amanpour in Cairo.

Pushed about his party’s refusal to recognize Israel, Mashaal said such a declaration could only be made once a Palestinian state has been created.

“After this state is established, it decides its standing toward Israel,” the Hamas leader said.

Mashaal, whose interview appeared to move his positions closer and closer toward the positions of the Fatah-dominated Palestinian Authority with whom Israel has conducted numerous round of negotiations, also spoke about Hamas’s use of violence and terrorism.

Asked if Hamas is willing to renounce violence, he said, “We are ready to resort to a peaceful way, purely peaceful way without blood or weapons.”

Such a move, however, would be conditional on the attainment of Palestinian national demands, namely, “the elimination of occupation and the (creation of a) Palestinian state and ending the occupation and the wall.”

As such, Mashaal also denied Hamas took part in the terrorist bombing of a public bus in Tel Aviv on Wednesday.

He added, however, that he believed the attack was a response to IAF strikes in Gaza during Operation Pillar of Defense.

The bomb on a central Tel Aviv bus resulted in 28 people being hospitalized on Wednesday morning in the first such attack in the city since 2006.

“Not Hamas, not others, not other people from, not Hamas. No one can announce except those who committed, not me,” Hamas told CNN when asked if the group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Mashaal blamed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for bringing about the attack, “with his crimes, in killing the kids of Gaza, and the continuity of aggression.”

I know the quote is a translation, possibly of a translation, but I notice what it doesn’t say. He wants a state on the ’67 borders, but he won’t take a position on Israel until he gets it. Any one want to guess what his position would be?

First of all it’s a lie. Just read the Hamas charter. Second, this is an old tool that Arafat YM”S used to use, proposing unacceptable conditions to western media in order to make Israel look like the one that doesn’t want peace. Third and most importantly, the land belongs to the yidden. We must make our case on moral grounds rather than merely security grounds. Security arguments do not win in the battle for public opinion.

Abu Mazzen must be real happy that this thug is getting all the attention he so desperately wants. And loves.

Israel should not agree to a palestinian state. The government of Israel does not have a right to give away land that belongs to the Jewish people.

Whether this animal was making a stament about policy can be discussed. What is 100% clear is that he makes these statements to irritate and infruriate others. Regardless, he is a subhuman creature that has nothing civil or peaceful about him. He reserved the right to continue all his animal behaviors, and no one in their right mind will expect him to live up to a commitment that does not postdate the existence of jews anywhere in the world. The trouble is that the current world contains individuals with power that will drink up this idiocy, like the goons heading the UN, Obama and Hillary, and others whose heart has nothing positive in feeling toward morality, Jews, or Israel. May we be zocheh to the coming of Moshiach, the great and final redemption, and the demise of all the rishus that is powering the golus.

Sure. And once they get that state, they declare war on Israel to get the rest.

What does he mean by 1967 borders? Does he mean before June 5, 1967, or does he mean after June 10, 1967? He believes in a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital? Hello? Where does Israel fit in in this picture? Does Israel also get to have Jerusalem as the capital? Does the right of return also include the right of the Jews to return to their ancient homeland, or do only Arabs have the right to return? Maybe by “right of return” he means the right for Jews to return to Germany, Russia, Poland, France, USA, Canada, the Mediterranean Sea,.etc. Get the picture? This momza is getting ready to sell our friends a gefilte fish with the scales and fins removed, and the head chopped off.
