The four men, who were seated in the courtroom today during the Nechemya Weberman sexual abuse trial, were observed by court officers illegally taking pictures of the plaintiff and defendant, according to reports on DNAinfo.com.

After being notified by the court officers, Judge John Ingram excused jurors from the courtroom and asked everyone in the room to turn in all electronic devices, including cellphones.

The four men were arrested after pictures of the victim were found on their phones.

VIN News has confirmed with the DA that the four men will be charged with criminal contempt in the second degree and face up to twelve months in jail if convicted.

It is unknown if any of the pictures had already been uploaded to the internet although one picture of the plaintiff taken today has reportedly surfaced on Twitter.

The woman, who is now married, has testified for several days about being sexually abused by Weberman, whom she was sent to for counseling for resisting some of her community’s traditional ways.

She had testified that Weberman, an unlicensed counselor in the community, locked her in a room and abused her, even while others were working in offices nearby.

Weberman’s lawyers maintain she hatched the tale to get revenge against him and others for their restrictive garb and practices that she felt were overly stifling.

The Brooklyn DA’s office, which has come under scrutiny in the past regarding its handling of sexual abuse within the Jewish community, told VIN News that anyone who directly or indirectly attempts to harass, threaten or intimidate anyone in this case in any way will be vigorously prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

B’yh these “thugs” will be sentence to serve several months at Rikers Island in cells with some real sex offenders. Maybe then they will understand that this type of intimidation will no longer be tolerated. Kol Hakovod to Judge Ingram and DA Hynes for moving agressively on this outrageous behavior.

Maybe they intended to “pixel” the picture so it is not recognizable. Newspapers did that with another rape accuser and nothing happened to those newspapers.

Perhaps they lead such sheltered lives that they didn’t know that photos can not be taken in a courtroom. For 4 of them to take pictures indicates to me that this was planned, pehaps to embarass or intimidate the young woman. Their actions certainly don’t help Weberman, who may be totally innocent.

1.) He is not “unlicenced”. Clergy are allowed to legally offer counseling in NYS as part of their ministry and charge for their services. I don’t know if he has smichah but I know he is a baal korei and baal tefillah and NYS recognizes “Jewish Cantors” as clergy for legal weddings, etc., so he is legally allowed to give counseling and charge for it.

2.) She is taking revenge because Rabbi Weberman is a hero who fights against child molestors. She was being abused by a man in his twenties and Rabbi Weberman reported it to the proper authorities, because he himself knows and recognizes that it is not in any way mesirah to report a child molestor, as molestors have a din of rodfim and should be jailed 100% no doubt. Since she enjoyed the statuatory rape of this guy she took revenge and reported Rabbi Weberman.

3.) Her current husband most probably also is under the same category as her former “boyfriend” who Rabbi Weberman bravely reported to the police, and he himself should be on trial for statuatory rape, and not the innocent Rabbi Weberman.

4.) Unfortunately too often the community covers up real molestors which enables people to try to frame innocent people, as I believe Rabbi Weberman to be, and incidentally Rabbi Weingarten to be.

They were arrested for having the picture on their phones not for taking them. The one that toke it was out of their before he put it on on twitter. Stop talking so stupid there’s no case. They will all be free. Bedised there connections. 1 is a news reportter second is rich as can be. 3rd is a treffic ticket fighter 4th will go along with the others. So B”H no jail time for anyone exept the VICTIM her self one day Iy’H for her rishes of motzi shem ra and for the way she goes in life.

waste of words for anyone; give your opinions as much as you want. NOONE and I mean NOONE knows the truth and will never knowTThe american court system has proven to be weak at proving these crimes. They misprove so many of them. Countless men get arrested as soon as their wives have a vandetta against them during divorce proceedings only to have the judge release them from jail to realize the inconsistencies in the wifes tale and how she did it just to revenge her husband. And countless men that should be in prison our out. When it comes to this kind of abuse it’s hard to know. Because so many so many angry adults use it as an excuse and revenge against pple. Society is also becoming more and more suspicious when it comes to such cases. It’s sad, but if only those that were really abused would makes such claims then us standing by and watching would be much more sympathetic. But were tired!

Every court I’ve been in — state and Federal — has signs clearly banning taking photgraphs. The last one I was in made non-attorneys check their cameras, cell phones and other electronic devices in a locker or with the guard. Bad guys (gang members, organized crime families, and others, have been known to photograph witnesses and jurors and show them to others hired or motivated to threaten, kidnap, or harm them before, during and after the trial. Ever wonder why so many crooks get off?

there are certain people that would believe the guilty is innocent and the accuser is a liar EVEN if the guilty person admitted it because it better fits there agenda.

The larger problem is that there are Jewish communities that intimidate the victims. Otherwise, there would be no reason for those photos to have been taken.

If all men were careful with the laws of yichud, even with children, false allegations would be very diffiicult to bring.
