North Carolina - Imprisoned Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard was rushed to a North Carolina hospital on Friday after having collapsed in his jail cell.

Pollard’s wife Esther was informed of his hospitalization, but the severity of his condition was not initially known.

Pollard, who marked the 27th anniversary of his arrest two weeks ago, was last hospitalized in April after suffering from extreme pain. Sources described his situation at the time as life-threatening.

His long list of ailments include: Diabetes, nausea, dizziness, blackouts and ongoing issues with his gall bladder, kidneys, sinuses, eyes and feet.

He also suffers from Meniere’s disease, which causes him to lose consciousness and fall without warning.

President Shimon Peres and Pollard have issued formal clemency requests to US President Barack Obama, but he has never responded.

US presidents usually grant pardons and commute sentences during the American holiday season that began with Thanksgiving on November 22.

UsS usually pardons during the thanksgiving season. Well he forgave the turkey for some unknown crime. I guess Pollard should have been a turkey not a human being. Refua sheleima. We daven each day for his release.

Pollard has had the continuous opportunity to apply for parole and the Bush Administration pointed out presidential pardons would not even be considered by any administration until he Pollard first applied for parole before seeking clemency.

Agreed....at this point he seems determined to go down as a "martyr" rather than using the available options to get himself freed.

During his last week in office, Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich, who was a wanted fugitive from justice. Although Clinton lied, and stated that he was pressured to do so by the Israelis, the fact of the matter is that Rich's wife, Denise was a large contributor to the Democratic party. Clinton also double crossed Netanyahu, when he initially stated in 2000, that he would commute Pollard's sentence. He lied, and blamed his change of heart on George Tenet of the CIA, and others. This entire affair from 1985, until the present smells! I can't understand why during the various Republican debates, not one reporter asked any of the candidates what their position on the Pollard Matter was. Also, Hillary Clinton also seems to have changed her position on this matter, over the years.

"They" who let the hijacker go are not Americans. They are stupid, gullible, Scottish people.

This is America. When you commit TREASON, you should be very thankful when they let you plead guilty to a lesser charge and avoid the death penalty.

You hit the nail on the head! His "wife" is a manipulative creep who has used his situation to raise a LOT of money (while claiming to be living in poverty) for herself. She filled his head with crazy ideas. She cut off his REAL family who have been trying to get him to apply for parole. If he is out on parole, she can't make any money.

Pollard has kosher food available to him.
Pollard has free access to spend time with his rebbaim learning.
He lives in VERY clean and VERY sanitary conditions.

We have innocent Jews in other parts of the world in terrible circumstance who need our help. It's time to forget about this traitor.

People, call White House Comment Line and ask the president to end Pollard's imprisonment by adjusting his sentence to "time served." 202 456 1111
Daven for the health and release from prison of Yonasan ben Malka.
PMO, I don't know who you are, but based on your analysis of Pollard's conditions I would also infer that:
Auschwitz was a playground
And Gitmo is a boarding school.
Darfur is the Garden of Eden.
I've heard the first-person accounts of people who've visited Pollard, and I mean first-person accounts face to face.
Many spies have committed worse crimes and gotten less time (and Pollard has acknowledged his guilt).

Scores of govt officials including George Tenet say this is over the top, more than enough.

It's a bit difficult to swallow that a full punishment of treason is applicable for someone who merely gave over info which was NOT damaging to the US, just secrets about Mid East Arab country on file. If they could have given him the death penalty they would have. And unfortunately, his employer remarked that it was an error that after supplying Israel with the info he didn't get a bullet in the head.

To: PMO in FL- While I certainly don't condone what Pollard did, the fact of the matter is that the Government double crossed him, when it assured his legal team, that it would not seek life imprisonment, if Pollard pleaded guilty. However, it changed its mind, after former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger, added fuel to the fire, in a "secretive memo", which contained misleading and false information. In fact, Weinberger's inciteful memo, caused Judge Aubrey Robinson to throw the book at Pollard. However, before he died, Weinberger was quoted as saying that the Pollard affair was blown out of proportion, and he was not against commutation for time served. Since that time, calls for Pollard's commutation have come from politicians on both sides of the political spectrum. The Government of EY also is at fault, as it has never returned all of the stolen documents, and has never admitted its culpability. In addition, it has never surrendered Col. Aviem Sella, who was one of the ringleaders. If Sella surrendered, instead of fleeing like a coward, Pollard would have been released a long time ago.

United States prison conditions are quite humane, and just fine for those of Pollard's ilk.

Pollard's release date is 11/21/15 - less than three years to go. Why does he resist asking for clemency?
