Binghamton, NY - Chabad Students Spin 749 Dreidels to Set Guinness Spin Record |

Binghamton, NY - An organization of Jewish students at an upstate New York college is trying to put a new spin on a world record.
The Chabad (khah-BAHD’) Center for Jewish Student Life at Binghamton University says it got enough people together Monday evening to simultaneously spin more than 749 dreidels, the four-sided top and traditional Hanukkah diversion, and break a Guinness World Record.
Guinness says the current record is 734 dreidels spinning at once for at least 10 seconds, a mark set by a United Synagogue Youth group in Philadelphia last December.
The Binghamton organizers will provide photos, video and other documentation for review by Guinness before the record is confirmed and changed.
They say the event culminated a drive that raised $10,000 worth of toys for kids with cancer.

749 is gematria of Tishamet, (Escape or slip away). What is the deeper significance? Ask your Rabbi.
If Chabad, why not 770 dreidels? Again, ask your Rabbi.
The only pshat I can think of is that 21 dreidels slipped away. Gematria, Ach (bayom harishon). Ach is a miyut. But that pasuk is about Pesach. Ask your Rabbi.
