Washington - The US is set to make good on a two-year-old arms deal in January when it delivers the first four of 20 F-16 fighter jets to Egypt in January, Fox News reported Tuesday.
Although the deal was inked with former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak before a revolution swept him out of power, leading to a period of political instability, Washington is holding up its end of the deal, part of a $1 billion foreign aid package.

Idiots!
We're talking about new madmen. The deal that the Americans struck have nothing to do with these bloodthirsty hounds.

The Egyptian military functions largely as a separate entity under theoretical control of the Egyptian government and is all that stands between today's bad situation and a complete takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Notice Bibi isn't making waves about this?

It's not a huge deal. Israel is given access to superior aeronautical technology and this is just a payoff so we have some say in Egyptian activities. You can be sure Israel has had the blueprints for the designs of these planes, and the planes themselves, for several years. The US pays off bad men all the time.

Why is this upsetting? The Americans have control of the spare parts and other stuff needed to keep these aircraft flying. Not a problem. (An interesting question is if Egypt has problems fighter jets can solve, but that is another issue.)

This deal was inked two years ago. The waves are two years too late, back than though there were no waves because Israel and Mubarak had decent relations, albeit cold.
There were Israeli officials in Cairo visiting with Mubarak at least once a month, back then.

This is impossible. Where will they get a box big enough to ship them in?

Egyptian F-16s are not a threat to Israel. When people say "F-16" they don't have a clue that these fighter jets all look the same but what makes them more or less capable is the electronic technology inside and the smart bombs and missiles that they carry. Israel's F-16s are much, much more advanced that there isn't a qualitative threat to IAF. Also, Egypt does not have an internal defense industry that can support their aviation fleet. All the spare parts are contracted through the U.S. And fighter jets require constant, expensive maintenance for every hour of flight or they become flying junk.

To #7-Morris- The U.S. Presidential election, which was held and decided on Nov. 6, 2012, was over a month ago. It appears that you are still recriminating about the results of that fair, election. GET OVER IT!!!
