Working from the emergency spending request President Barack Obama made five days ago, the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday released draft of the legislation.

While the bill calls for $60.4 billion, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that only about $9 billion would be spent over the next nine months. An additional $12 billion would be spent the following year.

The bill is laden with big infrastructure projects that often require years to complete.

Too little and too late. The money will go towards the NEXT storm, not this one. All the projects should be funded by the local governments, not the Federal government.

As for the poor victims of the storm – They are on their own. They can get help from private organizations like Young Israel and the Met Council, but the government money will not help them.

Funny that this 60 billion will be a loan that the government will take out. They will not pay it back, but we will get to pay the interest and out children will pay the interest forever.

Just remember – you voted for them
