The photo showed four members who were not in the original picture, which was taken Thursday when lawmakers were sworn in as members of the 113th Congress. They arrived at the Capitol steps late, and their images were inserted with a computer program.

“It was an accurate historical record of who the Democratic women of Congress are,” Pelosi told a news conference. “It also is an accurate record that it was freezing cold and our members had been waiting a long time for everyone to arrive and … had to get back into the building to greet constituents, family members, to get ready to go to the floor. It wasn’t like they had the rest of the day to stand there.”

Pelosi said the photo reflected the nation’s diversity, because it included women from every community and religious faith.

“So we were pretty excited about it,” Pelosi said. “We got a lot of response back from the country, and one I loved was when they said, ‘Can the women in Congress hear the people cheering across the country?'”

There are 62 Democratic congresswomen including Pelosi.

Huh? Accurate? Welcome to the sophisticated age where words and honesty are exclusive.

It’s like the photos from the Soviet Union-they used to airbrush out the Politburo members who were no longer in favor.

I saw this story on another board but I couldn’t find the extra 4 ladies – maybe it was because they doctored the photo to remove all the ladies from the picture.

An unnamed charedi newspaper is going to cause a stir. They also photoshopped the same picture.
There is a picture of the Capitol building with noone standing on the steps.

Big deal. This is basically a “yearbook” picture for the girls club of the 113th Congress. Not documentation of a significant historical event. Even with 4 ladies photoshopped into the picture later the same day, it’s still a fair representation.

Remember, there are some venerated historical paintings hanging in the halls of Congress like John Trumbull’s “Declaration of Independence.” that portrays a special moment in history, as a scene that actually never happened.

This is actually a case of jingoism at a certain level. This was done for the liberty of the congresswomen and not for the prosperity of America. Falsifying a photograph is not the future for a human development.

Who cares? If this was the only oily, underhanded thing Pelosi ever did, we’d have less to worry about.

    This is news?
You’ve never Photoshopped a wedding picture when they take the pictures before the wedding so only half of the new couple is there? You’ve never seen how they manipulate high school girls’ yearbook pictures, did you?
All this picture is meant to be is a picture of tthe female members of Congress. How they entered the picture is their business.

If this is ok, why then was it so bad when “Di Tzeitung” removed H Clinton from the picture. Remember the fuss then?
