Washington - Pelosi Suggests Top Earners Pay Even More In Taxes |
|
US House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi stands outside the US Capitol, on the day of the opening session of the 113th Congress, in Washington DC, USA, 03 January 2013. EPA/MICHAEL REYNOLDSWashington - House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi isn’t ruling out pushing for upper-income earners to pay more even after the “fiscal cliff” deal that raised their taxes.
She tells CBS’ “Face the Nation” that “I’m saying that’s not off the table.” The California Democrats isn’t getting into specifics but she does discuss changes to tax law that might involve deductions and other breaks.
The former House speaker also says the current Republican Party isn’t the “Grand Old Party that did so many things for America that commanded so much respect.” She says the country needs a strong GOP but she describes the current party as a “really over-the-edge crowd” that’s dominated by an element of “anti-government ideologues” committed to opposing President Barack Obama.

“ What is she on? ”
If the Republicans will try to protect the 1% of millioners, she will be the Speaker of the House in 2014 3rd in line for President and the Democrats will have both houses. They will be better of excepting her ideas on the rich (like they did it last week)

Is she a Communist already or still a Socialist?
Let her go visit her friend Assad again, instead of destroying of what is left of this country!

She is the wife of rich banker and the daughter of best Mayor of Baltimore. If the rich pay more taxes they would not have money to "gamble on risk investments" at Goldman Sachs

Power and triumph over evil are never measured in dollar signs. If you want to be quite honest, there is definately more room to tax the ultra wealthy if they want. Personally, I do not think that its socialism until they tax the ultra rich at over 60%. So if they want to make 15 million dollars, take a cut for America.

I would like to see an apples-to-apples breakdown of what someone making X takes home after taxes vs what someone in the next highest tax bracket has to make before their take home is higher. OTOH that may result in a lot of people just deciding to not work any harder.

OK,is it ethical for buffet to very publicly call for higher taxes on the rich and then pursue loop holes that would decrease his own taxes?
