Palestinians in Syria are descendants of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who fled or were expelled in the war over Israel’s creation in 1948.

The fate of Palestinians uprooted by Israel’s creation is an explosive issue. Israel worries that a mass influx of Palestinians could destroy the notion of a Jewish state.

Last month, Abbas asked the U.N. to seek Israeli permission to bring Palestinians caught in Syria’s civil war to the Palestinian territories.

Abbas said in comments published Thursday that Israel linked its acceptance to refugees relinquishing claims to returning to what is now Israel.

    Abbas says “we rejected that.”

    Israeli officials declined comment.

The article claims that Palestinians in Syria are “descendants of [those] who fled or were expelled in the war over Israel’s creation in 1948.” Most are not; they descend from impoverished Syrian Arabs who took advantage of UNRRA aid and joined the party. The same is true for much of the whole “Palestinian refugee” population. I realize that blogs admit all kinds of sources, but this one takes propaganda for fact.

Please prove what you say (nos. 1 and 2), as historians certainly disagree with your claims. It is not helpful to Israel to base any claims to a Jewish homeland on false facts. We have enough truth to support us.

    how do you know that:

    a. most are Syrians who took advantage of UNRWA
    b. there was a great Arab Aliyah

what are your sources, the BP Mikveh? Please show me any paper, study, book, etc.

When you write these things, you make others cast doubt on your critical reasoning, so your judgement as far as Yiddishkeit is in question too.
What I mean is, all of sudden your belief in Torah and Mitzvos (at least your brand of it) doesnt seem very well thought out.

I have a problem with so-called Palestinian refugees too, but I don’t make up stories.

i think we can all agree that:

5% max of all Palestinian “refugees” in Syria are originally Syrian.

5% max of Palestinian population in 1930’s was because of Arab migration because of better conditions engendered by the Yishuv.

Benny Morris has been all over the map politically, maybe you consider him BT.

But don’t undermine your own case by wild exaggeration
