One person has died in a large five-alarm fire in SoHo, authorities say. The fire inside a five-story apartment building at 41 Spring St. started at about 7 p.m., fire officials said. New York - Fire officials say one person has died in a five-alarm fire in an apartment building in lower Manhattan.

Fire officials say 168 firefighters were battling the blaze in the five-story building on Spring Street. The fire was reported just after 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Fire officials say two other people have suffered minor injuries.

No word on the cause of the fire.
