Jerusalem - Nine Arrested For Snow Attack On Charedi Youths |
|
Arab youngsters who allegedly attacked two ultra orthodox Jews at the Wailing Wall last week in Jerusalem were brought to the magistrates court January 20 2013. Photo by Uri Lenz/Flash90Jerusalem - Police arrested nine Arabs from east Jerusalem over the past week in connection with a snowball attack against two haredim during the snowstorm a week and a half ago. Jerusalem received over 20 cm of snow in the biggest storm since 1992.
A group of approximately 100 Arabs, mostly teenagers, spent much of the morning hanging out at Damascus Gate and pelting everyone who entered or exited Damascus Gate - Jews, Arabs, and tourists alike - with dozens of snowballs, despite pleas to stop from various parties. But the innocent snowball fight got out of hand when two haredim tried to leave Damascus Gate and were accosted by approximately twenty Arabs, who threw snowballs at them from less than a meter away and tried to steal one of their hats.
A video taken of the incident went viral on Facebook with thousands of people expressing disgust. Police arrested three Arabs last weekend and six Arabs from the Old City on Sunday night, both minors and adults. The Jerusalem Magistrates Court extended the remand of three of the Arabs arrested last week for four days.

Baruch Hashem! There is justice! Im so happy that the community at large made a big fuss over this and that support was shown to these special individuals who were victimized. I hope this is somewhat of a lesson to these ugly people....

Ok. So these two boys look like they belong to the Yerushalayim anti-Zionist community. So it begs the question why should the police be searching for the perps when they do not accept help from the "zionist entity"

Wow, so you went with the "looks" angle? Maybe YOU "look" like a criminal? Does that give me the right to assault and torment you? It says it in the article that these teens were bothering jews and arabs alike, it was these two though chasidish boys that they decided to film and post on youtube. Stupid is what stupid does and then posts it for the world to see.

A crime is a crime, Its not about ideology. So according to you if these kids got shot no one should be held accountable?

No offense, but not all chasdim are against Israel. However, if these boys are then you're right. I'm just saying not everyone who looks satmar/nutura karta is

Because we are all jews and friends and from the same origins. It's just that us Hareidim do not agree with the ideology of political Zionism. So what? We learn and daven for ALL yidden no matter what. We are a major part of the main jewish heritage, behind the scenes.

#3 wasn't to far off, if you are anti Israel, why accept help from them? Why because when you are on the receiving part it's important to have help from those you scream Nazi at, ridicule and don't accept? That makes you a lot of things, one of them a hypocrite. However, not all haredim/chasudim are against Israel like I said in my last post. Some charedim vote, some DO join the army (true it's a minority and not done by chasidim who are very strict but chabad does join as do litvaks) & much more, not all are like the ultra chasidish. One more thing most satmar & those like them don't go to the Kotel, so it's probably another chasidus, like stolen, karlin, slonim, gur & many others are not anti Israel & even vote, although from what I know only chabad serves.
