Washington – Declaring “our work begins today”, President Barack Obama vowed to “finish what we started” four years ago as hundreds of thousands of inauguration-goers gathered on the historic National Mall in anticipation of his oath-taking for a second term.

“Let’s go,” Obama tweeted Monday morning as he began the day of inaugural celebrations.
The president was cheered in the streets as his motorcade slowly made its way down Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House and arrived at the Capitol. At midday, he was to speak to a huge crowd on the Mall and millions more watching on television, hoping to set an optimistic tone for a divided nation seeking solutions to economic woes at home and conflict overseas.

Presidental Inaugeration of Barack H. Obama. 2nd Inaugeration. A Poem…
Dust be not still
The races of dignity use up
The silence of the storm.
A wind of change for the caretakers of liberty.
The usual somnolence of resolve
An answer continues in the heart of the stranger
America finds presence with dignity
For the arrogant find only negativity
And correspond no more with the
Passions of tomorrow.
Wisdom refrains from stomping out indifference
But life alone gets up to speak.
Go well Mr. President.
We have earned you with the respect of ages gone by

Mazel Tov, Mr. President!
Regarding the photos, which were shown, the only one which I wish was left out, was the one with Al Sharpton; no further comments are necessary.
Good luck Mr. President and if you succeed so will millions of Jews. I only wish that in 1941 as a 16 year old boy I would have arrived in this country and been able to wash floors instead being transported to the Ghetto Lodz and by the grace of the eibishter was liberated in Buchenwald instead as my cousins and all my friends were pushed into a gas chamber and incinerated. My the eibishter help- the President and klal yisroel
No pictures of any Yiddishe big shots ?
To #5 - Sen. Schumer of NY was at the President’s side nearly all of the time. He is a 1967 graduate of Madison High School in Brooklyn, and was the valedictorian. Does it bother you that he is not a frum Yid? Please clarify?
If the disparaging , demeaning and vitriolic remarks on this website are the authentic voices of the “Orthodox Torah” observing Jews why should these types be seen in celebration of the President’s inauguration
It is just not considered proper behavior for Orthodox Jewish men to mingle in crowds with gentiles or with women.. This custom should not be interpreted as being confrontational or as an expression of political partisanship. At the Siyum HaShas which occurred in MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ, in August, 2012, 90,000 Jewish men converged to celebrate the completion of a 7 and a half-year cycle of the study of the Talmud. Also there, hidden behind a mechitza, were 20,000 Orthodox Jewish women.
