Yoel Feder, son of Rabbi Avi Feder, sustained serious head trauma in the accident, according to the Bergen Record,(http://bit.ly/VRy0My) after a light colored Hyundai with New Jersey plates turned into the driveway of 411 South Parkway, located half a mile away from the boy’s Laurel Ave home, striking a babysitter who was loading the toddler into a minivan, pinning him between the two vehicles.

Fire Chief Vincent Colavitti of the Clifton Fire Department reported that the car, which was traveling west on South Parkway, initially struck a woman who was putting a child into a minivan parked on the street. The driver continued down South Parkway before turning into the driveway where the second accident occurred.

The driver of the vehicle was said to be incoherent when emergency workers arrived at the scene of the accident.

Three people, including the toddler, were taken to Paterson’s St. Joesph Regional Medical Center, located approximately seven miles from the accident scene. While the babysitter who had been loading the toddler into the van was not among the injured, the identity of the two victims transported to the nearby trauma center is still unclear.

An emergency Tehillim request sent out by YBH of Passaic – Hillel, where Rabbi Feder is a resource room teacher, asks the public to say Tehillim for Yoel Ozer ben Chaya Malka.

they need to lock up these drunk drivers and throw away the keys. after enough rot in jail, maybe it will make the rest think twice before they wreck another child’s life. there’s enough suffering in the world without these preventable horror stories.
