Manhattan, NY - Reclusive Billionaire's Yacht Docks In Midtown
Manhattan, NY - Drawing double-takes and stares from surprised onlookers, the largest private yacht in the world, Eclipse, silently made its way up the Hudson and docked in Midtown yesterday.
Arriving seemingly unannounced, this rare appearance of the legendary vessel set off waves of speculation as to the reasons for its New York City visit.
Eclipse, currently the world’s largest privately owned yacht, belongs to Roman Abramovich, the billionaire Russian business mogul who is renown for his steadfast commitment to privacy—-a commitment that no doubt fueled speculation.
According to CNBC (http://bit.ly/VYPfK2), a spokesperson for Mr. Abramovich declined to comment on the boat or its owner’s reasons for being in Manhattan.
Eclipse boasts a crew of over 60, replete with a large security force. It also features two helicopter pads, two swimming pools and a submarine.
