New York – A crowd of about 200 volunteer performers staged a flash mob in Times Square to protest gun violence and call for stricter gun control laws.

The protesters, many of them Broadway performers, silently held their arms in the air and then fell to the ground where they stayed for 26 seconds in honor of the 26 victims in the Newtown shooting.
They then outlined their bodies in white chalk like a police crime scene.
Sunday’s flash mob was organized by dancer and choreographer Lorin Latarro, who said she wanted to literally leave a visceral mark.
