The GOP nominee tells “Fox News Sunday” that he knew his campaign was in trouble when exit polls suggested a close race in Florida. Romney thought he’d win the state solidly.

Obama ended up taking Florida and won the election by a wide margin in the electoral vote.

Romney says there was “a slow recognition” at that time that President Barack Obama would win — and the race soon was over when Obama carried Ohio.

Romney says the loss hit hard and was emotional. Ann Romney says she cried.

The former Massachusetts governor acknowledges mistakes in the campaign and flaws in his candidacy.

But he jokes that he did better in his second run for the White House than he did the first time around — when he lost the 2008 nomination to Arizona Sen. John McCain.

He says he won’t get a third crack at it.

Romney says his campaign didn’t do a good job connecting with minority voters, and that Republicans must do a better job in appealing to African-Americans and Hispanics.

He says his campaign underestimated the appeal of Obama’s new health care law to low-income voters.

But he knows that because he lost the race, it’s hard to tell the GOP to listen now to what he has to say about how to improve the party’s message.

The Romneys are living in Southern California now and he’s kept a low profile since the election. He says “you move on” from the disappointment and that “I don’t spend my life looking back.”

Ann Romney says that after the election she was approached by TV’s “Dancing with the Stars,” but declined to join the cast.

She says she’ll be turning 64 soon and “I’m not really as flexible as I should be.”

The interview was taped Thursday and aired Sunday.

Good people. And they no doubt recognize that G-d calls the shots.

Romney did not run a very good campaign; if one looks at the ethnic composition of the various audiences at all of his campaign stops, with very rare exceptions, his supporters were all lilly white! Romney should have made a better effort to have reached out to minority voters. His campaign should have included stops in the urban and inner city areas. In 1980, even Ronald Reagan campaigned for President, in the South Bronx! Unfortunately, his pompous attitude cost him the election.

    Republicans are toast!
Unless they figure out how to appeal to the other 47%, they will keep losing in greater and greater numbers.
The facts are, today’s society comprises of a generation of freeloaders. They wont take work because then the government won’t give them entitlements. Its a Catch 22 with no way out. Neither Party can resolve this! The result is Class War against the “Haves” vs. the “Have Nots”. OWS is the birth pangs of this Class Warfare and more will come.

I guess that when you blaspheme democracy by touting you have an issue with the 47% and then you sneer at the US flag by writing your own name above the dignity of American interests by pursuing ignorant ideas such as increasing the number of navy ships in light of the evidence that America has no need for a steep escalation of these needs, you lose elections. Don’t come back.

Romney underestimated the appeal the health care law had for low income people. He said it himself how out of touch he is and how strong was his inability to know (and to care) what concerns people have.

Totally detached from reality and armed with a tremendous sense of entitlement. We’re lucky he isn’t President.

The urban educated class voted for Obama because the New York Times told them to. Why else would someone vote to have more of their own money taken away?

While I am modern orthodox and voted for obama i dont know of any coreligionists who shared my sympathies and voted my way–by and large I figure all conservative-minded voters opposed obama because of his democratic principles to support the underprivileged and minority groups. the republicans will never countenance supporting social security, medicare, minorities etc because these beliefs counter their desire to be clear and free of government and those who think government is beneficial to the individual

Anne Romney is a class act – Mitt is a good man.

They are lucky to have each other and their beautiful family. In the end, that is all that matters in life. Do good, live with a Higher purpose, be giving. Have a circle of people you love, love you back. That is a blessed life.

Mitt and Anne did not make it to the top office, but they have top class, not like the many spiteful commentators here, who are probably damn jealous. I, for one, salute their grace, class and dignity. I wish them well and G-d’s blessings.
