Syracuse, NY – Ga. Woman Pleads Guilty in Synagogue Disruption Case

    Syracuse, NY – Judy Overby, 75, of McDonough, Ga., plead guilty in Onondaga County Court to all charges against her related to incidents Sept. 8 at Temple Adath Yeshurun and Young Israel-Shaarei Torah synagogue.

    Overby was facing one felony count of second-degree falsely reporting an incident and two misdemeanor counts of disruption or disturbance of a religious service for incidents
    Overby’s attorney, Sal Piemonte, said his client was remorseful about her actions. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 26.

    Overby is being held in the Justice Center in lieu of $100,000 bond. A co-defendant, Peggy Davidson also is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond on the same charges. [Poststandard]

    If the Judge held both of them at such high bail [probably on the felony charge], the charges must have been of a serious nature. (More than is apparent from reading the News Reports).
