The idea behind daylight-saving time was to save energy by moving time ahead one hour. People have more daylight in the evening and don’t have to turn on lights.

This year, Congress added an extra four weeks to the period. Saving-time began in March three weeks early and there’s been an extra week at the end of it.

Urgent Reminder. save your own life. Test your smoke and carbon monixide detectors, and change batteries. And if you don’t have one, make sure you get one. [VIN]
