New York, NY – More than 8,000 homeowners who haven't paid their water bills will be given one last chance before the city moves to shut off their water supply.

The focuses is on one-family residential account holders who've had balances of $1,000 or more for over a year.
The DEP Commissioner says they'll be notified by mail. They will then have 90 days to make payments or face having their water shut off.
The DEP will also eliminate late charges against customers who agree to pay their water bills in full. [NY1]
