Cambridge, MA – A Massachusetts police official say the brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon before having shootouts with authorities didn’t have gun permits.

Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas tells The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that neither Tamerlan Tsarnaev (tsahr-NEYE’-ehv) nor his brother Dzhokhar had permission to carry firearms.
He says it’s unclear whether either ever applied and the applications aren’t considered public records.
But he says the 19-year-old Dzhokhar (joh-KHAR’) would have been denied a permit because of his age. Only people 21 or older are allowed gun licenses in Massachusetts.
The suspects were also accused of hijacking a Mercedes on Thursday night.
Haas says the pair didn’t release the driver, but he escaped when he was left alone while the two men entered a convenience store.
Oh! here we go again……gun control. Dumb Haas- they didn’t have a permit to detonate a bomb either but they still did !!!

Thanks for letting us know. Shows us that making it harder to get guns legally will not stop massacres like this. They did not have any LEGAL guns and therefore making more laws will not stop such events from happening. It will only stop law abiding citizens from getting them but will have no impact on events like this or Newtown.
They didn’t have pressure cooker permits either.

Think a national ban will stop gun violence? Think again. We have a strict national Ban on the marijuana. Yet somehow drug dealers manage to smuggle them in. More then half (60% +) teenagers have tried them out one time or another.
Wait a second?? Wasn’t there a law on the books that one needed a gun permit to carry? Wasn’t there a law on the books against terrorist attacks? Wasn’t there a law on the books against killing people? Wasn’t there a law on the books against……..

I don’t think these guns where made in a basement. they were manufactured by a company. If you follow almost all so-called illegal weapons they originate in the legal market.
All gun control would do is limit supply which in turn might make it more expensive to obtain illegal weapons, but they surely will still be able to be obtained.
All gun control does is exactly what America’s founders were afraid of if we cannot bear arms: the lack of ability to protect ourselves from criminals and a tyrannical government.
Anyone who wants to do evil and harm others will always find a way, despite it being illegal, of course. What do evil doers care about legal? It is the innocent ones who need weapons to protect themselves from the terrorists. Gun control won’t help anyone at all, just make things worse. Here you see, they used innocent pressure cookers to make bombs. They’ll always find something innocuous to make a bomb from.
No permits? Uh-oh, they’re in trouble now.
Make it even MORE illegal, then maybe they wouldn’t have had them….
