Samuel Salomon was headed east on Atlantic Avenue just west of the turnpike with his wife, Yvonne, in the passenger seat of their van. The bullet that killed Salomon was meant for the owner of the West Boynton grocery store who chased the suspects in his Mercedes for miles.
The chase ended with a manhunt in a busy Piccadilly Square in the 8000 block of Glades Road in West Boca, where dozens of people were locked down inside stores for hours as Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies – armed with shields, helmets and large guns – went from business to business searching for one of the men.
Three men were in custody by 4 p.m. Friday, but authorities are still searching for two suspects, said Lt. Mike Wallace, commander of the Palm Beach County Violent Crimes Task Force, which is investigating the case.
A neighbor of Mr. Solomon said, that the couple were getting ready for the [Hanukkah] holiday next week,”. “He’s a very religious man. He goes to temple every morning.” [NBC]
