Throwing stones or attacking physically anyone is disgusting.

Haredi IDF soldiers to walk around in uniform in ultra orthodox neighborhoods is a clever idea by the religious Zionists movements. They try to prove that one can be in the IDF and still stay Haredi and something like this should not be tolerated. It is a great danger to the Haredi sector to enlist in the IDF becuase you can not stay frum once you get into the army

Haredi IDF soldiers should be screamed at when seen in an ultra orthodox neighborhood but not to attack them

    “radical Eda Haredit”

Radical? 1)The Eda has denounced violence many times including before and after last weeks demonstration. 2)The Eda Haredit represents the majority of the Ultra Orthdox Jewry in Israel and in the USA. While there may different sects that are not affiliated with the Eda’s view on Elections, they share the same view on almost everything, joining the army Shabbos, education and Kashrus.

Their Kashrus supervision is the most revered and everyone (Ok, almost everyone) seeks their supervision followed by Rabbi Landau.

What they are achieving with this anti Chareidi reporting? They are creating a much larger cooperation and understanding between the different more liberal sects and the Eda/Satmar.

The Eda/Satmar are a well money oiled machine (they dont take money from Government) and have the power to create lots of PR & political damage in the USA and elsewhere. Couple that with the hate & isolation Lapid/Lipman/Bennet are targeting entire Chareidi population, they are creating a monster that never existed and wont go away. They need to engage!

This policy of fighting Chareidim is backword, it makes no sense for them politically on the international arena.

Simple solution, allow Chareidi soldiers to go in their neighborhoods without IDF uniform.

Forcing them to do so adds nothing to the security of Israel, it only adds to the culture warfare.

This is what they should do to all so called ‘charedi soldiers’. Maybe this is how they should learn there lesson not to be a soldier in the T’reifene IDF !!

So lets get this straight, fighting Arabs that are coming to slaughter your babies = Bad.
Fighting our brothers that wear the uniform of the protector=Good
That makes sense. we should stop eating the hechsher of these animals…..

Isnt it possible that these soldiers actually live in the area? Why shouldnt thy be allowed to dress in their uniforms? Dressing as soldiers does add to the security of Israel. It is well known that there is a manpower shortage in the Israeli Army and and especially the Reserves, and charedim are needed to help fill the gap. Many charedim want to join the army, do their service, and then get on with their life, but are forced not too by intimidation from the same maniacs that are throwing these rocks. The more charedim that show up in uniform back in their neighborhoods and continue to live charedi lifestyles, the easier it will be for others to follow thier example.

I read stories like this and I wonder if its time that the IDF starts to occupy and enforce rules in these areas too. The Charedi are the new palestinians it seems.

To Fact1, All this PR will only further isolate the Eda. I would not be surprised that new Kashrus organizations will spring up which will ultimate diminish the Eda’s standing among the masses. I see the beginning of the end of the Eda. It should take about 15-20 years and the Eda will be only in history books. The Eda’s existential enemy today are their own since only they can destroy it. In general, organizations self-destruct once they believe they are invincible. Look at our wonderful IRS. The most powerful entity in the USA is about to be taught this lesson. Its demise is from within. The Eda should learn a lesson from the IRA saga. Saying your against violence but allowing it to happen via some rouge charadim is exactly what the IRS is claiming and watch where it takes them. If only the IRS would’ve learned from watergate, they would’ve known better. But no, they viewed themselves invincible and so history repeats itself.

I just got it: #4 is a buggy software application, not a human being. No Jew, frum or otherwise, could possibly be that stupid.

And #6 fell for the ruse.

These people and you people defending them are nothing more than a cult. We are sick and tired of you. We have to stop supporting charedi charities.

Simpler solution. The IDF should not protect haredim. Let them fight the pallys themselves.

TOO BAD, these thugs can’t make A LIVING from throwing stones. They do it very often! More than Learning with a Sefer! R’L

Unfortunately, I see a sizemic shift in the Frum world as a result of this issue, but only for a time. The draft will most likely happen – at least within 3 years- and those that defend the Chareidi position will have to take the extreme side ( as we see now) while those that defend the IDF draft,( Mod Orthodox, Religious Zionist) will likely go their right wing side and within a couple of decades there will be a compromise. The ironic thing is that more & more Chareidim were going to the Army before Lapid came on the scene. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

At the end of Bayis Sheni, the infighting amongst the Jews got so bad that one group burned all the stockpiles that would have allowed Yerushalyim to withstand the Romans long enough that they would have given up. It seems that love of fire is alive and well in today’s Charedim.

Kol hakavod to these two fine charedi IDF soldiers. The stone throwsing charedim should be transferred to gaza where they.ll blend in perfectly with hamas!

To #1 - Where did you arrive at your scholarly conclusion that “one cannot remain frum while in the Army”? Tell me, were the stone throwers acting frum, while they were engaged in throwing stones at the soldiers? Was that derech eretz? Is that what their Yeshivahs teach them? It is an absolute shanda and a disgrace to act like a hooligan in public! Such vile acts should be denounced by all responsible leaders.

not every charadi is violently against the army. my son and son-in-law served in the IDF and now work and support their families. some of the people in meah sharem are extreme examples of frumkite at its worst: zero toleration for people who think differently inspite of the fact that they are shomer shabbos, etc.

it may be time for normal frum people who believe in working and Torah, as it states in perkei avot, to demonstrate against these riff-raff.

Shame on them. These brave young men are literally putting their lives on the line to protect the security of all Jews in EY. If you don’t want to serve bec you are learning, kol hakavod. But to physically attack another yid who is being Moser nefesh to protect you is appalling and I do not believe for a second that this behavior is promoted by daas Torah.

Derech agav, I have many chareidi neighbors who have served in chareidi units and said there were no challenges to yiddishkeit. This is a viable alternative for people who are not cut out for a.life.of learning full time.

These so-called students who won’t serve in the military because they’re learning in a yeshiva have obviously not learned anything about violence and hatred toward another Jew. Disagreement is acceptable, but a physical attack is not. You can almost call these attackers anti-semites, but unfortunately, maybe not almost.

Time for the leaders to speak out. When you repay a tovah (protecting the country) by hurling stones at those who sacrifice their time and limb for you, these people are seriously off the derech. If they are not reigned in, the leaders can look forward to being their prisoners.

IDF soldiers in uniform are also under arms. Since thrown rocks can be deadly ( a case that’s made every time the A-rabs do it), why didn’t the soldiers just shoot the rock throwers in self-defense?
