ReutersJerusalem – Saying that it is “detached” from “reality” and meant to “crush” the Torah world, United Torah Judaism’s Yakov Litzman renounced the latest IDF draft proposal from the Peri Committee which recommends a “transitional” draft for young Haredis.

YNETnews.com (http://bit.ly/12yK338) reports that, under the new proposal, 65% of haredis would be drafted at age 21 after a three-year “transitional” period.

The plan also calls for economic “sanctions” against yeshivas enrolling students attempting to “evade” IDF duty.

Litzman said that the absence of any haredi “representation” on the Peri Committee points to an “ongoing” trend in the current government to “hurt” Torah students.

The Peri Committee’s proposal, which was submitted Thursday, has also come under fire from The Forum for the Promotion of Equal Share in the Burden who said that any “transitional” period essentially hands a “victory” to the ultra-Orthodox.

The group strenuously called on the Lapid-Bennett government to “implement” the draft immediately.

Litzman, wake up and smell the coffee. The rest of the Yidden, are tired of carrying you.

    Dear Rabbi Yakov Litzman,
When the state of Israel was created the Edah Hachareidis and many Gedolim with the Satmar Rebbe in the lead stated clearly that Al pi Halacha it is not allowed to participate in the government and not in the elections. Every law against the Torah each MK is a partner in that law.But the Agudah claimed its a must to become members of the Knesset in order to fight from within.
The facts showed all the years the religious Agudah party didn’t fight any sinful laws. The only thing they gained was money for yeshivas.
Now, Rabbi Yakov Litzman, you see already that even you are within the government you cant do anything and your hands are tied. Perhaps its time to see that being a part of the government is against the Torah and those Yidden who don’t vote are correct.

Not to worry, Jon Kerri is coming with a “peace plan” and Bennet will have no choice but to leave and the Chareidim will replace him. Bennet was stupid for sticking with a hate monster like Lapid and any withdrawals will be on his head.

Funny how they call it the Lapid – Bennett government. As if Netanyahu is not the prime minister. Truth is that Netanyahu is a weak little puppet who is incapable of setting his own agenda. And this is the guy that people think will know how to handle Iran.

On the contrary, it is Litzman and his fellow chareidi rabbonim who are ‘detached from reality’. And if forbidding your talmidim from learning skills needed to support their families is not ‘crushing the Torah world’, I don’t know what is.
