YNETnews.com (http://bit.ly/11jdZ0O) reports that Naomi Avraham, who speaks Chinese, Yiddish, English, and Hebrew, comes from a family of 10, and is a graduate of the Beit Yaakov school for girls.
Avraham is currently completing her final year in accounting studies at Machon Lev’s haredi branch, which is an arm of the Jerusalem College of Technology.
In honor of her acceptance, Machon Lev has agreed to fund Avraham’s trip and pay all her expenses during her her internship.
She’s obviously very bright. Hope she makes a kiddish Hashem!
Again what we call a “Haradi” in the USA doesn’t cut it in Israel especially in Yerushalyim…
Kol hakavod.
Hebrew, Yiddish and English could easily have been aquired by osmosis, if that was spoken at home. But … Chinese!? I’d love to hear more about how she learned that language.
What “Haredi Lite” would say now?
Just another example how Hareidim are brighter and more successful the their counterparts, even when they don’t learn extra curricula studies in school.
It’s their moral and education system that puts them ahead. They sharpen their heads with Talmud and the likes and they are pure. So yes they may not know History or even algebra, but in real life who needs that for the most part? A good percent of people you will deal with in a global Business are foreigners who know just as little as they do.
As soon as they settle on a trade, they learn everything they need to know within months.
Kol Hakovod. Wait a go! Waita make us proud! Just wondering without sarcasim … what does her husband do ?
My parents spent WWII interned in Shanghai (escaped from Vienna) . They taught all of us to speak Chinese in honor of the people who saved them.
