The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS (http://nydn.us/175tgLX) reports that despite his award, it remains unclear whether or not Levin will see a penny, due to the fact that his first cousin, Sholom Eicher, remains in Israel where he fled immediately following the filing of the suit.

Eicher did not deny the charges before he fled.

Levin charged that Eicher molested him between 1996 and 1999 at his family’s home on Eastern Parkway, at the synagogue Vishnitz in Crown Heights, and at a family vacation retreat in upstate New York beginning when he was six years old.

An expiration of the statute of limitations prevented DA Hynes’ office from pursuing criminal charges, but reports show that Israeli officials are currently investigating the possibility that Eicher may have molested Levin during a family trip to Jerusalem in 1999.

A “prominent gadol hador” has looked into this and found that the accused molestor, may his light shine, is totally innocent of the charges. (YES. I am being sarcastic).

My comments usually on a subject like this that Mesirah is not allowed but i never say or believe the story is not true unfortunately most of the time its probably true.

In this case im certain the story is not true for whatever reason its fabricated.
I have no connection to either parties.

VIN these allegations stem from when these were both children and Eichler refutes them entirely. Levin who is known as an individual who is very unstable and dishonest is an ambulance chaser who has no qualms about destroying an innocent life and family. Any one who knows (and there are many) Sholom Eichler knows he’s being railroaded and stand by him 100%

    To all The Nay Sayers:

While this story has been a public story for some time now please do remember certain facts:

Eichler admitted to more then one person that this had happend.
The age gap between the 2 is 6 years, so to say they were both children is not entirely true a 16 year old knows what they are doing and that it is wrong.

Levin does have issues and it stems from this story, have you seen someone who was molested who does not have certain emotional issues?

last but not least – i request all the people who are ultimately going to bash Levin for doing what is right for himself, Eichler is ready willing and able to babysit for your son at anytime just give him a call….. i am sure you will be at his doorstep with your child in no time, if you hesistate for even a moment its because you have a doubt in your mind as to wether you should be putting your child in harms way and all your naysaying is just to make you look good in front of someone else.

I’m a bit confused by this story. Maybe someone with more knowledge can explain.
    1) How is it that the Staute is over for the criminal but not the civil penalties. Aren’t they both five years?
    2) A previous commenter wrote that Eichler was a child at the time. Was he really legally a minor or over 18 (still a “child” but not legally).

Funny how most of you will still protect the molester and blame the victim. I do hope you are not near children or have children.

Levin When is your family going to have the guts to stand up and say that they know these allegations are lies…. Decent people would no matter how painful denounce their child for making such allegations when they know its a lie…. They are not decent but could still fix that.

If as the posters are saying the accused was 16 at the time of the accusation meaning he was 13 when it started and 16 at the last time then it changes everything at least for me. It means the accused was in fact a child and had little understanding of the damage he was doing. To go now and turn over his life and that of his family because of a childhood issue is wrong in my book. Teenagers go through all kind of issues and sometimes unfortunatley this is one of them. For all those who will yell back at me, try and think what you would want if your child went through a stgae like this. It happens more often than you might think.
There is a huge difference between a child/teen acting out and an adult. It has been documented in studies that the rate of reofending amongst teen offenders is way lower than for an adult. If we start going after every teen who has acted out we may be biting off more than we can chew.

“You cannot speak loshon horah about yourself.” Wrong. The Chofetz Chaim speaks about this in detail. Maybe you heard of the sefer Shmiras Haloshon?

Don’t see how anyone can make a judgment call. How can one be believed over the other? The truth will forever be known only by the accused, the accuser and G-d. As for those who say no way, could not have happened, I know the guy, he didn’t do it, etc., don’t kid yourself. If he did, he’s not about to admit it to you or to anybody else. Besides, he was a kid. Kids commonly play ‘I’ll show you mine if you show me yours’ which could’ve gotten out of hand. Time to move on.

I applaud Mr. Levin for his courage in standing up and reporting what happened to him and in filing his civil suit. We will only be able to defeat child molestation when the victims step forward and complaint to authorities. Also, by coming forward, Mr. Levin has probably prevented other children from being molested by the same abuser. Kol Hakavod to Mr. Levin!

How brave he is, to stand up and speak out about his molestation, and to try to hold the molester responsible. I hope this gives others who’ve been hurt in this way the courage to step forward.

    3.5 million uncollectible dollars

This is almost standard occurence in Brooklyn’s mixed public schools.

How many 15 Year old PUBLIC SCHOOL teens who molested a younger students were sued for 3.5M? – 14 years later!!
In fact was there ever such a case?
Are the public school children ever plastered in the Daily news?

An orthodox Jew is treated different both in the news and in court – the EXACT reason for Mesirah.
