New York - A new poll says Anthony Weiner has slipped to fourth place in the Democratic race for New York City mayor.

The poll was conducted by Quinnipiac University amid the fallout of his latest sexting scandal. Weiner was in first place in a Quinnipiac poll released five days ago and conducted before the scandal broke.

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is in first place with 27 percent of likely voters. She was followed by Public Advocate Bill de Blasio at 21 percent, former city Comptroller Bill Thompson at 20 percent and Weiner at 16 percent.

Weiner said last week he continued having illicit online conversations after resigning from Congress in 2011.

Poll director Maurice Carroll says Weiner is in “freefall.”

Pollsters surveyed 446 Democrats from Wednesday to Sunday. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.6 percentage points.

I know NYC is a democrat state but I'm still frustrated that there is no conversation about the republican running mates and only discussion revolves around the democrats!

QUINN it seems is going to win based on her leading the polls and I'm actually fine with it--she seems to be the most normal and moderate for the following reasons:
Thompson=David Dinkins--need i say more?
de Blasio wants to tax the rich--another ULTRA LIBERAL WHO DOES NOT RECOGNIZE YOU NEED A TAX BASE TO KEEP THE CITY GOING
LIU= a labor candidate who doesn't have his own house in order

Quinn--is a middle of the road who will go out of her way to please the frum community-- because she is gay and doesn't want come across as being against anyone.

After all that, he still has 16%? What are people thinking? Must be his mother, maybe his wife (maybe not), and some very hard core liberals!

Instead of thinking about figures, Wiener should have concentrated on numbers..

I just hope Weiner stays on. Otherwise the race becomes boring and monotonous. Weiner adds a lot of spice.

No being a N.Y. is not bad but having a candidate in need of psychotherapy is bad. Your preferences regarding your personal morality is not paramount for a candidate

Here are the Republican candidates for Mayor:

Adolfo CarriĆ³n, Jr., former director of the White House Office of Urban Affairs and former Borough President of The Bronx
John A. Catsimatidis, businessman, owner of companies including the Red Apple Group, the Gristedes supermarket chain and the United Refining Company
Joseph J. Lhota, former Chairman of the MTA
George McDonald.

Latest Quinnipiac poll shows Lhota leading Catsimatidis, 49% - 35%.

How about supporting republican Joe Lhota he was deputy mayor under Rudy Giuliani. He is a good guy promised to help private schools (unlike Quinn that said that she is against vouchers).
