EPA/URIEL SINAI / GETTY IMAGESWashington – US Secretary of State John Kerry has warned Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in recent weeks that Israel may be confronted with an international deligitimization campaign “on steroids” if renewed peace talks with the Palestinians fail to bear fruit, journalist Jeffery Goldberg reported on Tuesday in his Bloomberg view column.

Goldberg quoted anonymous officials as saying Kerry believes that Netanyahu fears deligitimization to the same degree that he fears Iran’s nuclear program.

Netanyahu is not only concerned that the delegitimization campaign could hurt Israel’s economy through boycotts, “he is said to be even more worried that this campaign will erode Israel’s ability to defend itself,” according to Goldberg.

Speaking on Monday ahead of peace talks set to take place in Jerusalem this week, Kerry said that Israel’s announcement of new settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem “were to some degree expected,” and urged Israelis and Palestinians to move head with peace talks due to resume this week.

“What this underscores is the importance of getting to the table, getting to the table quickly” and resolving disputes over settlements and other issues, said Kerry. He added that he had spoken on Monday with Israeli negotiator Tzipi Livni and had called Netanyahu.

Israel’s housing minister on Sunday approved plans for 1,200 new units in settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, which Palestinians claim as part of their state.

“The United States of America views all of the settlements as illegitimate,” said Kerry, who was on a visit to Colombia.

Dear Zionists: the propaganda that established your state has reached its sell-by date. Time to try something different, or face the hostility of the goyim. You are still in golus

So everyone is happy. Israel’s economy is doing well. Tourism is at all time high. Israeli scientific and biomedical research is booming. Terrorists attacks are almost nil. Even Ramallah is doing brisk business. But we need to start the peace talks, says the USA, even though there is more peace in Israel than ever.
But peace is a code word for capitulating to Arab demands. The Arab world is in tormoil – the only place THERE IS peace, is in Israel, but Israel needs peace talks, supposedly. Now, Kerry is blackmailing Israel that if they do not capitulate to the demands, there will the a ‘deligitimization campaign on steroids”????
    Is this a joke?
Mr Prime Minister, get out while you can from these shenanigan talks. Get out while your economy is still good, while there are no bus bombings.
Is it just me, or does nobody remember Oslo and the horrendous years that brought Israel?
Wake up, Bibi, wake up!! These ‘peace talks” are no dangerous for Israel than any minefield. Kerry is not your friend. The US, under Obama, is not your friend. Get out now.

“The United States of America views all of the settlements as illegitimate,” well we view Barak Obama as illegitimate so I guess that makes us even.

What goes around comes around. Those who deligitmize Jews in order to legitimize attacking them, will they themselves be deligitmized and attacked. After the Knesset, the courts, and the media have put the “charedim are parasites” propaganda on steroids, and considering that the second largest party was elected on that platform…

This is precisly the danger with peace talks. If it doesn’t work (which it won’t) it emboldens the enemy. Thats why not sitting down to begin with is much smarter.

The Kerry understanding is that the conflict between Israel and the so called Palestinians is the driving force for instability in the middle east, Yes-Egypt, Syria,Iran,Iraq, Afganistan, they are all tied to this enduring conflict-That is the stated Carry view….whether he is insane enough to actually believe his own words is immaterial…this is what the man spouts….it pours out of him like Heinz ketchup.

George W. Bush already stated that U.S. policy acknowledged that the existence of settlement blocks is an irreversible fact. Obama is the first President to call them “illegitimate.” Israel is being blackmailed into submission. We need a good scandal to sidetrack Obama. Why didn’t the IRS scandal go anywhere?

Netanyahu should just say “okay, let me think about it” and wait until 2016 when Obama and Kerry are out of office.
