Colmer was liberated from a death camp after taking place in the Death March from the Auschwitz camp in Poland. She told a story how she would sing a song to a Nazi guard in Auschwitz each day and for that she received a small extra piece of bread.

The contest, with 18 finalists, was held at the Municipal Sports Complex and attended by more than 5,000 people. The panel of judges included former MK Pnina Rosenblum and journalist Judy Nir Mozes Shalom.

She immigrated to Israel in 1946.

I’m not usually easily offended but way to trivialize a travesty. Maybe they can have a miss world genocide contest with ladies from Armenia and rawanda.

If she survived the Nazis and is still up and around at age 93, then she is a beautiful woman.

i would not normally comment on such a israeli subject

but if its about Surviving the Holocaust how about a picture of a Survivor who has the largest Family

have we not learned that imitating the ways of the other nations is NOT THE WAY OF THE JEWS (if i was insensitive i would hint that this style of culture invites a new ….)

To Numbers 1, 3, and 4. I would rather have this woman into my home, shul, or function then any one of you!

Is this some kind of a bizarre joke? How can such a tragic episode in our history be marginalized by a beauty contest? These are questions without answers..

I think it is a nice expression of the hope of a soul who was detached from any human activity against time in their youth and during the few remaining years where we have survivors, we should honor them in any way we possibly can so that the world can see that the Truth is that G-d will Never Again let this happen to our people. We say Never Again.

This is not a celebration of the soul it is a celebration of the body, (And in this particular case a degradation of the body).
93-year old women have a beauty, but not the shallow beauty associated with beauty contest winners.
It’s sad that anyone could think this is an honor, it’s a disgrace.

First of all what a travesty to make holocaust survivors into. Second no offense to any of the contestants but they ain’t no spring chickens anymore no matter how many times you die your hair or how much makeup you put on. I mean your at the latter years of your life and this is what you focus on?? That’s pathetic.
