A lawsuit filed Friday in Manhattan federal court by North Jersey Media Group Inc. says Palin’s SarahPAC posted a copy of the photo on its website and Facebook page without permission.
The photo depicts three New York City firefighters hoisting an American flag among the rubble at the World Trade Center after the attacks.
Arlington, Virginia-based SarahPAC did not respond to a message for comment.
The lawsuit asks the court to stop SarahPAC from using the picture. It also seeks damages.
NJMG publishes The Record and Herald News newspapers plus 40 weekly community papers, twelve magazines and two websites.
Great! All we need is another 15 minutes of attention for the First Bimbo / Chief Cheerleader.
They OWN the picture that has appeared all over the place? Wanna bet they haven’t sued anyone yet for using that picture ?
Sarah Palin is all about private property rights, well, this picture is private property. Licensing fees have to be paid.
Honestly guys, you have to be a little more level minded. Comment 1 was more of a humorous statement than blatant slander of a woman who is now in the public forum and open to critical review. And if you like Ron Paul and think he is your friend, give yourself an A for being like a pigeon who hates his own destiny. Ron Paul is an anti-Semite and his son is a fraud.
Not to mention that the idea that “Sarah Palin Supports Israel” is more like her being happy because she gets fresh bagels. I can guarantee that the lovely Christian woman has no interest in your Torah blessings or your own dignity other than to play political expediency. When do half of you actually learn from history and understand what it really means to be a Jew.
Far be it for me to defend Sarah Palin. This CT attorney is a liberal. BUT, it is not just Sarah Palin being sued for the unauthorized use of the photo. It is her political action committee. Chances are that Ms. Palin had nothing to do with the decision to post the purloined picture on the PAC’s website. These decisions are seldom made by anyone but staffers.
I may detest Ms. Palin’s politics, BUT I’ll not malign her personally for actions that I do not know to be hers.
