While any loss is terrible, R’ Zev Segal A”H had a long and full life. It was more the manner of his petira that was shocking, but he lived for 9 decades and had a good life until literally the last moments. The young men murdered last night by that worthless terrorist never had a chance.
Let them all be melitzei yosher and let Moshiach come already!
Klall Yisrael Should become more and more united to get through all these tzaros. This site is a beautiful way for s all to stay together. May Mashiach COME NOW!!!
The levaya is Friday at 11 AM at the Bialystoker Shule on the lower east side. boruch dayan emes.
Baruch Dayan HaEmes.

Re: “And maybe someone this age should leave the driving to the einiklach…..”
Baruch H-shem, this man was zocheh to HEALTHY, functioning arichas Yomim and was able to live life to the fullest to a beautiful age.
Who said his age had anything to do with this accident. Do you really believe that when a person reaches a certain age, he should turn himself into an unfunctioning invalid? Baruch H-ahem that Rav Segal a”h was able to live and function well!
I imagine there will be-ezras H-shem not be an autopsy, so we will never know whether he had a heart attack, aneurysm, stroke or whatever, causing him to lose control of the car. He might have even been niftar instantly and the car just went into the river after his petirah.
There are so many other people of all ages who despite their youth and other capabilities, should not be behind the wheel of any moving vehicle because they are a danger to others and themselves!
Hamokom yenachem…. May the family know of no more tzar.
To Anon commenting please someone explain this. Can someone explain the holocaust and the death of 6 million. Of coarse you cannot explain these terrible things because G-D has his reasons even though we do not understand them. Hamokom yenachem eschem besoich shear eveilei tzion and we should never hear from Tzar
“They also tell us in the past 25 years, two cars have gone off into the Hackensack River at the very end of this roadway even though there is a steel barrier. Apparently in some situations it doesn’t work.”
What a terrible day May hashem help the Segal family and klall Yisroel through this Loss.
any update as far as the funeral??
To Anon 4:24pm
Please don’t post comments as such in such a time. It is imature and totally uncalled for. Let’s all be mechazek our Torah and Tefilla and bring the Geula speedily in our days, and Bez”h we will all be reunited with our loved ones. Sincere condolences to the entire Choshuve Segal Mishpacha. May you only know of Simcha from here on. Umacha Hashem Dimaa Me’al Kol Panim.
Baruch Dayan HaEmet
may we all merit the speedy arrival of Moshiach.
march 6 347pm
not everything has an explaination!!
hanistoros lashem elokaynu we dont know why hashem runs the world the way he does
ps how can u understand 8 yeshiva boys sitting and learning torah in yeshiva being gunned down and killed in cold blood for no other reason then they were born jewish??
is that more understanding then this tragedy here??
we live in a world where not everything is understood by us or for that matter has to be understood we must have emuna and bitochon to accept what ever hashem does of course it doesnt preclude us from trying to look save protect one self etc what ever the situation may require our hichtadlus but after we exhaust what ever humanly possible we leave the rest to hashem yisborach and daven
may the family be menuchem in there this time of tragedy
and as someone previously posted
maybe 90 year olds should leave the driving to the children or einiklach?? perhaps not driving at 85-90 t may also be part of hishtadlus
I am extremely shaken by this tragedy. How things chnage so rapidly.
Here is a father shepping bundles and tons of nachas from his son at his radio show, and then moments later is life is taken.
Someone please explain this to me.
Nachum, HY”E. Men zol nisht vissen fin kein tzar

w shomrim centrl said the man was found no more info yet
oy – I cant work today because of this.
rabbi segal is a very intelligent man. you would never beleive he is 90. he was a liason to the satmar rebba ztl & to the brisker rov ztl. he had at one point the largest shul in n.j. with over 800 mispallalim. he is an talmud chochom & a pleasure to speak to. every shalosh seudas a crowd forms around him to hear his pearls of wisdom.we all have a chiyuv to be misspallel for him.
I once heard that there is a way to turn on a phone from a remote location if it is currently off. Is this true?
I don’t get you guys. All you “professional” advisors make it sound like the police and investigators are as dumb as they come. Do you think they don’t know what they are doing and where to search? stop giving unwanted advice and daven instead.
The phone is not powered on, cant do that.
use electronic equipment to ‘ping’ the phone and home on in its location, and bingo–you’re done.
Are there any lakes, streams, rivers, etc., in the area that should be searched.
The reward and 24 hour hotline established tells me that the ppl who are involved think that there might be a criminal link to his disappearance. Any thoughts?
May HKB”H Watch over Rabbi Segal,
and all yidden, Bichol makom shehaim, AMen!
As a relative of Rabbi Segal I can tel you that for a 91yo man he is in amazing health and driving is not an issue.
May Hasham return him safely to his friends and family.
Please guys, there are professionals leading and working the search. Stop suggesting ideas that any professional is aware of.
I assume someone has been checking all the area hospitals…
On JM in the AM this morning they said he was on the way to Livingston, New Jersey
He might have CH’V lost control of the car and driven off the side of the road.
I would check the sides of the roads leading from the radio station to his house.
To anon 8:25am
Don’t worry about being a know-it-all, your spelling (or lack thereof) proves how little you know.
Mi K’Amcha Yisroel! I hope we hear good news soon!
Can any North Jersey residents do anything? such as searching on Rt 4, Rt 17, Rt 208?
amen
With the Zechus that Nachum brings Torah and jewish music to the radio.May Hashem answer all our tefillos and may this end in a speedy ending.
