INFOBAE.com (http://bit.ly/18spNTj) reports that the group began to rush to the cathedral’s entrance where it began praying the rosary aloud and reciting the “Our Father,” while distributing pamphlets declaring that “followers of false gods must be kept out of the sacred temple.”

Inside the cathedral, Buenos Aires Archbishop Mario Poli—handpicked by Pope Francis as his replacement—pleaded with those in attendance to remain calm as several worshippers rose from their seats to confront the demonstrators.

The predominately young protestors—who typically identify themselves by wearing red berets—lasted only about 19 minutes before they were dispersed by local police amid chants from worshippers of “Nazis, Nazis.”

Once calm had been restored, Monsignor Poli told the assemblage, “Let there be peace, Shalom. Dear Jewish brothers, please feel at home, because that’s the way Christians want it, despite these signs of intolerance. Your presence here doesn’t desecrate a temple of God. We will continue in peace this encounter that Pope Francis always promoted, valued and appreciated so much.”

The interfaith commemoration of Kristallnacht has long been a favorite of Pope Francis, and was attended by leaders from various religions, including Rabbi Abraham Skorka, a close personal friend of the Pope’s.

Also in attendance were interfaith priest Alejandro Llorente, Rabbi Shalom Jonah (Bet Am Marc Chagall ) and pastors David Calvo (United Lutheran Church), Ester Churches Church (Disciples of Christ), Sergio Lopez (Danish Church) and Mariel Pons (Evangelical Methodist).

The event is organized by the Commission for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue and the B’nei B’rith Argentina.

Undersecretary of Buenos Aires’ Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism and chairman of the Holocaust Museum, Claudio Avruj, said, “We take what happened very seriously because they defiled the house of God. As Jews this is taken as clearly anti-Semitic, intolerable, and unthinkable for Argentina today—especially given the teachings of Pope Francis.”

Jose Peron was pro-Nazi and many Ustashis, Ukrainian war criminals found haven in Argentinia. It was Catholic Bishops who manned the ratline and enabled to escape to Argentinia of Eichmann, Mengele and other war criminals. The very religious Croatians and Ukrainians were the most ferocious in the murder of Jews

    Oy.
    Poor uneducated Jews.
They don’t know that A Jew must not enter a church. (Even if it’s for participating in a nice and gracious event.)
